And if Hillie votes yes, she avoids ticking off folks in Buffalo, whom she's gonna need to win re-election to the Senate. Wonder if that's occurred to the rest of the Dems yet, that she's gonna bail and leave them hanging.

Oh, Colmes is about to have a hissy fit. Too many people on talking about what a great choice Roberts is! People from all walks.

I think she will vote yes, dreaming that if she is selected President, that she could get a wild liberal Justice passed the same way.

My point was the the RATS, congress etc. also know her husband is ill.

I agree w/ you, but.

Do you think the RATS are going to factor that [her husband being ill] into thier fillibuster plans?

Somewhere it was mentioned that Judge Roberts grew up in Indiana, but was born in New York. He worked in a steel mill to put himself through college.

I have to go read about this man because I know nothing about him. I've been out of the loop on FR these days.

NARAL: "...the lives of countless ordinary Americans will be affected by the outcome."

They mean babies.

Hatch does well when he's steamed, and he is very steamed.

That's a great analysis.

One thing many DUmmies in particluar don't understand is that sometimes, despite their plotting and positioning, the worm...just...turns. And there's nothing they can do about it. People like Graham and certain Dems see the evidence and without asking anyone or "plotting" they realize the same thing, at the same time.

This is one of those cases. They can talk all they want about this or that, but in the end sometimes they've just got nowhere to go, and they know they have to just take it and hope their time comes again.

We are taking up a collection of Darvons, sleeping pills, and Jack Daniels for the DUers. Please send all donations to NARAL, with proper warnings to use these together. Oops. Did I say "use together." So sorry. Oh well, too late. :)

I have some Lortabs left over from surgery ......

To: hoosierham; All

I've read all of the posts before posting this, as to not repeat anyone's thoughts, but found no one making this point... I am BIGTIME hoping that I'm just being a paranoid Hand Em Their Arse, but this pick doesn't really do anything for me........YET!

Maybe it's just that I've become very cynical of the President over the past couple of months (And trust me, I do love this man!), but to me the scenario hovering over the Supreme Court with regards to the next couple of years hasn't changed much....

Was this a tremendous conservative pick for President Bush? Absolutely! Could not have chosen a better man, HOWEVER, I'll start my backflips and handstands when Rehnquist resigns and the President picks someone LIKE REHNQUIST AND NOT O'CONNOR... If he chooses a Souter type, what changed? Nothing!

The scariest scenario of them all for me is Rehnquist DOES NOT resign, and God Forbid we lose the 2008 election... Rehnquist is that much older and sure to resign by then and a lib president chooses VERY lib justice... Then the "O'Connor-ish" vote goes very far left...

Anybody have thoughts on this?? If it's has been brought up and answered, I apologize... Just got home and quickly went through the posts and ddin't see iit anywhere...
