"The military did not lose the war." Kerry collaborated with the enemy and made a concession to them.

leadpenny - you and I haven't crossed paths to speak to one another directly before apparently. I'm on a few vet ping lists, so note others know me.

I don't attempt to stifle free speech for anyone.

I'm not a vet myself, just a 20-year partner to one.

I just thought this zarf person was way out of line with what he said about vets.

I think it's easy to get caught up in the anonymity of FR and to say things we wouldn't say if a dozen, or so, of us were sitting around a table. The last thing anyone would say is for someone to leave the room for what they believe.

There are many good posts throughout the thread that challenge and counter zarf's position and he responded to many of them accordingly. Civil debate is probably the best way to influenced someone else.

Thanks for your post.

I have nothing good to say about the man. He was a political general.

He should have been tried for High Crimes and Treason.

It is the Generals responsibility to protect their troops. He did not. He allowed McNamara and LBJ to sacrifice our young men, my friends and neighbors.

I guess McNamara is still alive, the sob. I hope they reincarnate as Somalis.

You suck. And not well, at that.

Sh*t, I guess the whole Cold War was one big circle jerk in your stupid little world.

Go smoke some dope and go to sleep---idiot-wanne-be-has-been-a$$hole.

So you liked everything about LBJ's little ole war in SE Asia, starting with his handling of the Gulf of Tonkin incident?

Westmoreland wanted more troops so that America could fight the war full force, win, and go home. It was the gradual escalation policies of presidents which wouldn't allow that to happen...plus other circumstances.

Hey guys, sorry you don't know me or or mine.

I might answer privately, but then you wouldn't know, would you? Freepmail is pretty real.

Hey leadpenny and zarf -- read around and see who is real and who ain't.

I have my own way of figuring out who real (legit) and who is not. I'm sure most everyone does.

I take it you were talking about looking around to see who is who and what they say they are? ( . . to see who is who and what they say they are? Did I write that?))

Anyway, is that what you meant?

He should have resigned his position and then campaigned in public against LBJ and McNamara. He did not. He let his soldiers down and for that I condemn him.

I don't think I post in a vacuum, leadpenny.

Some years back, some of us did think that, over at PTSD101, but we learned.
