The Plot Thickens – Matthew Cooper lied.

Posted on 07/17/2005 9:50:46 AM PDT by Pukin Dog

If you did not see Matthew Coopers performance this morning on Meet the Press, you should have, because it gave away the plot for the attack on Karl Rove.

Cooper flat-out lied when he told Tim Russert that he first heard the identity of Joe Wilson’s wife from Rove. Rove never mentioned the woman’s name, only that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA. He never said who that woman was.

Cooper, clearly under orders to keep the fake-scandal alive, told that whopper to Tim Russert, because without it, the story would die a quick death.

Remember what is going on here.

This is not about Rove, it is about the Supreme Court. The goal is not to just ‘get Rove’ as some are saying, but to create an environment where the Democrats can garner enough public opinion to begin arguing that George Bush should not be allowed to set the direction of the Supreme Court while under this cloud of suspicion.

The Democrats are working toward connecting the fake Rove Scandal to Bush, which can only happen after Karl Rove’s security clearance is revoked. If that happens, the Democrats can then accuse Rove of nefarious activities which he will not be able to defend against without the ability to either access or reference classified material. The Democrats want Rove’s clearance so that he can be framed.

So what you saw today, was the husband of one of Hillary Clinton’s main lieutenants lying on television to keep a dying story alive. Matthew Cooper is without credibility and should not be trusted.

Before anyone asks me, none of the above is the product of my personal opinion.

The funny thing is, used to be living beyond one's means usually got CIA types pulled in for polygraphs and close questioning.

I think the Walker family got busted because someone noticed he had a late model car and a boat.

Marvin Kalb - I saw him today, too- he is looking befuddled, actually had some of the facts wrong...

Facts? Facts, we don't need no steekin facts. LOL He wasn't there to push the facts of the story forward. He was there to push the talking points.

"Walker is said to have lived in a movie dream world of heroic and daring accomplishments. He flaunted the money received from the Soviets. He bought a house and gave his wife carte blanche to furnish and decorate it as she pleased. He bought a boat where he spent much time partying with other women, and eventually he purchased an airplane. He claimed the income came from the bar and other astute investments. He had a flair for the theatrical. At parties, Walker usually wore a beret and ascot and liked being the center of attention. He devoted a lot of time thinking up ways to impress his fellow crewmen."

Sound familiar?

"Perhaps Cooper was not exactly lying, if he said he learned of her "identity" from Rove, if Rove was indeed the first person who told him that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA.
Not exactly lying? I work for Delta Airlines. Did I just give you my identity? Cooper flat-out lied."

The real point here is the fact that his wife hasn't been a NOC since, the CIA hasn't been protecting her identity, and SHE hasn't been protecting her identity since the late 90s. Inasmuch, it doesn't matter who ID'd her...it's not a crime.

Wasn't that purrty?

I'm curious about this line......

"The MSM even bragged that they were worth 15 points for Kerry all by themselves"

When did they actually have the gall to admit this? Thanks.

Mitch McConnell has a good piece out today that mentions that the Republicans voted for liberals on the SC when the Repubs were the minority party. Therefore; it is only fair that it work the other way around. I believe this is a point that should be mentioned over and over again. The American people are not stupid and they will see the fairness of that.

I agree; I'm surprised that this is not mentioned much more by the republicans. They should be saying this incessantly. As for the libs hoping that this hyped-up 'scandal' will scare Bush into naming someone 'acceptable' to them (which I doubt, but hey what do I know), that would be a terrible thing to happen--it would just encourage the libs in the future, whenever a SC vacancy comes up during a gop president's term, to create another manufactured scandal.

That's true. They also can't force an impeachment through a Rebublican majority in the House, but they're deluded enough to think that they have a chance.

It's disturbing to realize how separated from reality the leftists have become.

Given how unhinged they've become, I fear the day when there is a republican president and a democrat congress.

You are entitled to your opinion.

However you are wrong.
