Unfortunately, I think what he meant is that the day the Novak article was printed, she was no longer undercover, because of the article.

She was apparently a CT, Career Trainee. All CTs are on covert status, no matter what job they're doing.

Thanks for finding and posting this. Aside from the obvious bombshell, it looks to me like he's doing a lot of tapdancing and fancy footwork. I think the guy's about to be exposed for what he is, and even better, might face some legal problems--so he's doing his best to weasel word as much as he can.

If this is a "bombshell", should we put it in Breaking News now that it's got a transcript? Not insisting, just wondering.

I thought it was interesting that Chris Matthews told Wilson that Rove said, "Wilson's wife is fair game." Blitzer did not ask for context of that assertion. Poor journalism.

This is hysterical .. the dems have been all over TV whining about Rove's CRIME of outing a "covert" operative - and here is Wilson on TV saying she WASN'T COVERT at the time.

Some lawyer on FOX with Brit Hume .. stated Wilson's own book says his wife stopped being a covert operative on a certain date ('97) .. and according to the lawyer .. that date means that Karl Rove didn't BREAK ANY LAW - as the dems have claimed - because it's outside the timeline of 5 years in the statute. So, if it was 6-7 years past the time Valerie was in the covert business, and the statute also requires that the covert person be OVERSEAS AT THE TIME THE NAME IS REVEALED. This means Rove is CLEAR ON BOTH ISSUES.

Rove did not out a covert operative - nor did he reveal classified information. THE DEMS LOOOOOOOOOOOSE AGAIN.

Yes thanks for the article and thanks for making it a standalone too.
What would we do without the FR? I had been an occasional lurker for many years but the FR was a little to intense for me to post on, but witnessing the whole RatherGate go down here changed all that.

I have been somewhat aware of it for as long as the thing has been going on like most, but there was something wrong with all the pieces, lots of things didn't really connect things & were counter intuitive, didn't make sense was the gut feeling I had.

Now suddenly with NYT reporters in jail this Wilson guy says on national TV that his wife was not an operative on that date and so on it seems to be that my intuition was right and we will now start to see the real connections.
