We are progressing nicely with our activism project aimed at saving Massachusetts property rights. (See our previous thread here.
Among the things we have accomplished since last Thursday are the following:
*Filed the appropriate form at the Mass Secretary of State's office to reserve the name "Massachusetts Citizens for Property Rights, Inc." (MassCPR - "Don't let them flatline our rights") for our non-profit corporation.
*Had an excellent logo designed (thanks to Freeper Johnny7).
*Scripted a 60-second commercial spot that we plan to feature on our website and to place on TV.
*Identified a local digital imaging production group who has tentatively agreed to provide us with no-cost production talent to produce the above-mentioned spot.
*Made contact with a Freeper web designer who has offer to help design our website and get it up and running.
*Had conversations with several state reps regarding how we can work together to achieve our legislative agenda.
=======================
Right now, our most urgent need is for informal legal help in formally setting up the corporation and answering some basic questions relating to that process. In particular, we need a set of boilerplate by-laws for our organization to complete the filing.
We are not looking for formal legal representation, as we are prepared to execute the filing ourselves. (I have experience in setting up Massachusetts for-profit corporations, but none with non-profits).
But I would appreciate the chance to do some brain-picking of any Freeper lawyers (or laypersons experienced with this process in Massachusetts).
You do not need to be licensed here in Massachusetts, as we are not asking for formal legal representation (although if any Mass-licensed attorney would be willing to step up to the plate in that regard, we would love it).
But even if you are not licensed here and can, with relatively little effort, learn enough about the process here to help us with the filing, that would be terrific.
If you can help us in anyway, please Freepmail me.
Thanks, as always.
Maybe you can Freepmail "holdonnow" he might be able to steer you in the right direction.
Thanks for the referral.
Holdonnow, if you see this and might be willing to help us, please freepmail me.
Thanks.
Make certain you get your approvals for acting as a non-profit from the IRS and the state taxing authorities...after formation, you need to apply for that classification...there are forms on the IRS web site...
start by writing out a brief description of the purposes of the corporation and allow your lawyer to see that, as it will help in drafting the articles of incorporation...
Forget it.
All the list making,shucking/jiving and arm waving won't get it.
Engage head bone. You don't have a chance.
The ship has left the dock.
Apply to law school. Join the Army. Get a job. Perform voluteer work.
The position of Joan of Arc has been filled.
I love your can-do approach to life. You must be a real joy to know personally.
Glad you weren't around back in 1776.
Thanks for your advice. Since one good turn deserves another, here is some friendly and sincerely meant advice to you -- seek medical help to treat what sounds like a very severe case of clinical depression. (Better yet, apply to med school.)
You can probably get the boiler plate bylaws from the net, (business 101 type .edu sites, or legal self help sites) if no one responds that can provide an e-blueprint.
I have been googling by-laws, and also spent a lot of time searching the Mass Secretary of State website for filings.
Thus far I have not found anything that applies.
There's also some reletively cheap software. I forgot the names, maybe someone else can ID that.
Then inclaunch top of google.
WOW, you are a real go getter and sure got a lot accomplished, LOL! Wishing you continued success on your project! Well Done!
One reason for this site is to bring about change.
Do tell?
Another appears to allow RINO's to muck things up by defending lost causes.
Try this. Hope it helps.

The vast majority of colonists didn't want the Revolution, let alone want to fight for it. Every July 4 pronounces afresh that "'lost' causes R us!'
