Just struck me, Beth said she just found out the DEA guy hadn't given a statement, I think she said "last night".
So how did she find out? I think her detectives are on the prowl. Make sense? I mean, who told her if not her investigator.
Your post was very interesting. Thanks again for contributing all the great information to the thread. It caused me to look at aruba.com again. I was on a page where the subject was BOR. It was entitled, "How Dare He?" (slam the Aruban gov't).
One post, obviously made by someone living in the US, had the following info in it. I thought I'd share:
"Personally, now that I am learning about Aruban law, I am a bit hesitant to return. While on Eagle Beach, I watched a man die of a heart attack. I was appalled as I watched them only perform basic CPR. An EMT told us that it is illegal to perform any advanced life saving techniques unless you arrive at the hospital with a pulse. I'm sorry, but I was never so happy to land in Newark and see defibrillators on the walls!"

That's a good point, Pepper. I have been to so many websites and seen so many snippets of info I can't keep any of it really straight.
I've never thought JVDS was in this alone. And somehow I think that has everything to do with him getting away with whatever he's done. And, I don't even think it's the first time! I think he's USED to getting away with stuff that would put any other kid in deep do-do.

Yes I did. Obviously he was quite upset about something. Just hope that things are getting tough for him because then he might be ready to tell the truth. However, I am not holding my breath!
IIRC, she was going to pick up a few of the girls at the airport, and for that, she had plenty of time. However, now being informed (as she was driving) by the chaperone in Aruba before any of them had gotten on the plane (I THINK they were all gathered and waiting in the hotel lobby and Natalee was very late and not in the hotel at all), she must have known she would be going to Aruba and started speeding and dialling 911.
The question is, did any of them have additional info about Natalee at that time, info that Beth has been told NOT to give to the public now so as to not compromise the case?
When was Beth aware of the voice mail back at her home (where she had not yet arrived, but Jug must have been there)? When did that boy with the garbled message on his cell realize that? How much info did Natalee's friends start giving when Natalee did not show up? My guess, thinking back to high school days, is pretty much everything they knew -- they were no doubt FREAKED that Natalee wouldn't make the PLANE HOME so they probably spilled their guts about who they last saw her with.
I don't know how much of that info the chaperone would even pass to Beth at that time.
Frankly, a mother might worry "the worst," but would other adults or even other kids? Wouldn't a lot of folks assume she was simply drunk and oversleeping at her "lover's" home?

Oh, OK. That makes more sense. However, sociopaths will be able to look you in the eye and lie like that, possibly even crying HUGE Scott Peterson tears, which wouldn't give Dave the answer he desperately seeks.
Mrs. VDS is in total denial (the mothers of these guys always are, look again at Scott P). The father is using all his legal expertise/connections to protect and cover for his son, and seems to know a lot more than he really should, if Joran is so innocent.
Wow, that's actually a great cover employment for a DEA!
