ISRAELI soldiers killed a Palestinian militant as he was meeting a British reporter in the West Bank city of Nablus, witnesses said.
They said soldiers broke into a house where Mohammed Alasi, 24, a local leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, was talking to the reporter. Alasi tried to flee, but soldiers shot him dead and took his body, witnesses said.
The Israeli military had no immediate comment.
The witnesses did not know which news outlet the reporter represented, giving her name only as "Annie".
They said she was being questioned by Israeli forces, and her translator was detained.
The Al Aqsa group is linked to the ruling Fatah party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Nablus, the largest city in the West Bank, is a main centre of militant activity. Israeli forces carry out frequent raids there.
Apparently this "reporter" is American not British but sometimes first reports are mistaken. She writes such balanced pieces as, "Do you Regret Being an American?"

Should have shot the reporter for being an accomplice.
A Bullet to the back of a terrorists solves alot of problems.
Annie must have been in a swoon to be able to interview one of those romantic Jihadists. Today's Che Guevaras. Hopefully "Annie" will not be trusted now by the Jihadist killers.
Especially with no death penalty in Israel. Where you gonna warehouse these dime a dozen psycho killers?
You can't, that's the point. Probably save a few lives.
Hmm, 'meeting a British reporter' reminds me of when we were in Jerusalem. We started out at the British hospice with the Anglican Church there. They were SO pro-Pali, SO PC, so smarmy about the 'poor victims' -- we could not stay. They have been pandering to the Muzzies for a long time .... And then, they bit the hand that fed them. Well what do you know?
Quite true. And any intel group worth its salt will have taken advantage of that, albeit carefully so as not to disrupt the system, in order to identify bad guys for later tracking and targeting.
Which makes me wonder about this particular action. The Israelis didn't have to hit him there -- but they clearly wanted to hit him there.
I guess it's a twofer. First, it publicizes that the IDF knows where the terrorist leaders are, and can kill them at will. Second, and perhaps more importantly, it will probably help to sever the link between terrorists and media events.

Why didn't they shoot the reporter, too?
Me too!
Just one well placed hand grenade. Just one.
With Judith Miller in goal, there was no one to warn him. It's Bush's fault.
I've always preferred to think of John Lennon as having been "taken out".
I like that!
Didn't look like they had any "drool cups" either...
So that may say a lot...
Or not...
hehehe
