It's not a double standard.
It's Cognitive Dissonance.
"Abortion is a great tragedy and I fully support it." -- it's an insane comment, but Democrats say it all the time.
To: NormsRevenge
Gee Bill, It couldn't be that be see here as a crass opportunist trying to run to the middle, No way!

Anytime Bill Clinton talks about, indeed, uses the term "normal impulses" the Dems are in deep kimchee..

"So for example, if you're a Democrat and you have sort of normal impulses, you're a sellout, like when Hillary said abortion is a tragedy for virtually everybody who undergoes it, we ought to do all we can to reduce abortion," Clinton said.
One would have to be believable to be a sellout. There's no way that I believe Hillary to be even remotely pro-life, much less "normal."

Whaaa...?
So when Republicans say we needed to go into Iraq but regret the loss of innocent life, Nancy Pelosi and company say "Well of course, we know that" as opposed to comparing Bush to Hitler?
What Clinton is saying is that since the libs FEEL BAD about it, they shouldn't be held accountable for murdering children. Oh, ok, sure, Bill.
At this point I think it's a good thing he keeps yapping. His schtick plays to the robots but the rest of us are sooooo tired of him. He's like a lounge lizard who's there and dying to talk to anyone no matter what time of day or night you go in for a quick drink.

So for example, if you're a Democrat and you have sort of normal impulsesI dunno. Somehow, I think Bill Clinton would do himself a favor by avoiding any reference at all to impulses, normal or otherwise.

A speech by Sen. Clinton in January in Albany, N.Y., led to a flurry of speculation that she was shifting slightly to the right. LOL! What a joke.
In that speech, she called abortion a "sad, even tragic choice" and said her husband's administration had done a great deal to reduce the number of abortions in the United States
Someone here needs to research that claim!

But if John McCain, who's pro-life, works with Hillary on global warming, he's a man of principle moving to the middle." Wrong again, Slickster. We still know he's just a RINO. However, you might want to talk to your bought-and-paid-for media about their favorite "Republican".

"So for example, if you're a Democrat and you have sort of normal impulses, you're a sellout, like when Hillary said abortion is a tragedy for virtually everybody who undergoes it, we ought to do all we can to reduce abortion," Clinton said. "All of a sudden," he continued, the media began asking, "'Is she selling out? Is she abandoning her principles?' He's smarter than that. He knows that the media and the rest of the wacko left want her to celebrate the murder of babies right along with them. If she evidences any difference from that lockstep view then some of the democrat constituency might see that the abortion emperor has no clothes and really is murder.

Now that he has nothing to do he is running her campaign. This is going to be good. I bet you she is going to regret this. Okay Okay I'm having pipe dreams again about her losing the Senate!

Whenever Bill starts talking about "normal impulses", you had better make sure that your wives and daughters carry a gun or next he will be saying, "You better put some ice on that."

He contended that Republicans have defined the abortion debate in a way that boxes in Democrats.Yes. You're either taking life or preserving it. But coming from a man who evidently read the Bible looking for loopholes, I'm not exactly surprised.
