Remind me why I bothered to work for Bush's reelection.

Because Kerry was slightly worse?

why do you always believe what you read?

as for working for Bush's re-election, well I guess you just forgot what 1993-94 was like, if you have to ask that question

This article reports precisely nothing about Bush's thinking, list of potential judicial candidates, or eventual nominee. Untwist your panties.

that's nonsense.

Also I cant remember the last time a SOCTUS decided a trade issue, that is congress's relm.

You have fallen for the same foolish nothin about the SCOTUS that liberals have. You think it is a super legislature. Who cares if a SCOTUS is anti or pro NAFTA, frankly I'd rather not know becasue it is irrelevant

As somebody who was out there ringing doorbells and walking through towns I didn't even know existed...

I hear ya.....one can tell who was posting during the last election, all day, every day, and those that were too busy to post because they were out in the field working...I am sure you are the type who has never missed a vote :)

As for the Dems, you can be as nice as you want, but they're never going to return the favor. I think Bush shouldn't waste his time going that route.

I agree completely....total waste of time.

Let us pray that Pres. Bush keeps his word to the party faithful.

Others have pretty well debunked the misleading headline Newsmax put on this article, but I'm sorry ... the more I look at it the more appalled I am.

That headline is not worthy of a college freshman's hobby blog, much less a site that fancies itself a legitimate news source.

It seems to me this is an attempt by the democrats to pick the nominee.

I agree, I'm hoping and praying for that, too. I think Bush is ethical and honest, but I think that his desire to appear fair gets in his way and instead makes him appear weak (and hence, jackal-food for the Dems).

You know Fred Thompson really wouldn't be out of the question.

As I understand it the president picked Thompson to help him get the nominees throught the process...the last time the President did that, it was Dick Chaney helping GW to pick a VP candidate.

Demonrats leak two Hispanic judges' names as acceptable to Demonrats. Bush will nominate neither. Bush might well nominate Judge Emilio Garza of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. In the face of ANY Hispanic nomination which Bush MIGHT ACTUALLY make, the Demonrats will go ballistic, claim "extraordinary circumstances", go into their "send us every document that ever mentioned the nominee starting with his/her birth certificate, kindergarten report cards, etc. to the date when any vote might be taken on the nominee." Republicans will think: But, but, but it would take years to comply with such demands!!!! Dingy Harry/Ted the Driver/schmuckie Chumer/Leaky Leahy/Dickie (Eddie Haskell) Turban and Mrs. Arkansas Antichrist sing to MoveOn.Org a chorus of "Exactly!!!"

The real reason for Demonrat Senators to float (on policy grounds) unnominatable Hispanic Judges????? Dingy Harry/Leaky Leahy, et al.: "Why, we haven't a racist bone in our bodies. Buttah jes would not melt in ouah mouths. We suggested just two names and BOTH were Hispanic." Do not underestimate the pain of the Demonrat hypocrites when they were nailed as the racists that they are for opposing Estrada because of his potential as a SCOTUS nominee. An Hispanic nominee who meets the usual GOP litmus tests will seriously damage the Demonrats. So would the nomination of a Janice Rogers Brown

O'Conner resigned pending the confirmation of her successor. If nobody is apointed, she will still be on the court. Replace her and be done with it.

Enough. He got elected.

On a serious note, please try to stop the reflexive reactions to the RATS' gambits. It'll eat you alive. Step back and look at the big picture.
