Jihad Is Knocking: Another Episode in the War between Christendom and Islam - (sensational piece!)
VICTOR HANSON.COM ^ | JULY 10, 2005 | BRUCE THORNTON

The slaughter in London is another grisly wake-up call that likely will go as unheeded as earlier ones. Already the standard narrative is being trotted out: evildoers created by what the New York Times predictably called the “root causes of terrorism”: autocracy, or economic stagnation, or Palestinian suffering, or globalization's dislocations, or Western historical sins, or the war in Iraq (the cause will depend on the political prejudices of the pundit) have “hijacked” Islam and distorted its peaceful message.

And now they are using Islam to justify murder in order to further their own ambitions or dysfunctional psychic needs. Given this explanation, so the story goes, we must be careful not to demonize all Muslims and assure them that we respect their religion and culture. The tale is then wrapped up with fierce threats against the terrorists and protestations of admiration for Islam.

Believing this delusion requires that one ignores fourteen centuries of Islamic jihad against the West, a war of conquest and colonization ratified by centuries of Islamic theology and jurisprudence. Indeed, what we call Islamic radicals are in fact Islamic traditionalists; it is the so-called “moderates” — those wanting to compromise Islam so it can coexist with Western ideas such as secular government, separation of church and state, and human rights — who are the radicals and innovators.

The terrorists are simply fulfilling the traditional and orthodox command of their religion to battle the infidels who resist the revelation of Mohammed and the global socio-political order mandated by Islam.

Listen to one of the most respected and influential of Muslim clerics, Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, on the legitimacy of jihad:

It is a pity that in the absence of evidence sufficient to support your own aspired-to arguments, you seem impelled to self-immolate what little credibility some in this forum might have ascribed to you, doing so through declasse, misguided, and unprovoked ad hominem attacks, and through putting words and concepts in the mouths of others which did not originate from them.

This goes on all the time on certain threads. Actually I was waiting for someone to pull a race card out of his/her hat by now. Could be worse, you could be a (((nazi))). Silly isn't it?

In any conflict it's a good idea to take seriously the motives the enemy professes and not rationalize or explain them away in terms of your own cultural assumptions.

Great post, Jan. They don't want our respect, they want our blood running in the streets. Speaking of that, where are the pics of the gobbling women praising Allah, over the terror attacks in London? MSM probably didn't want us to see them.

The mentally ill were locked up so they couldn't hurt themselves, their families and others.

Now they become congressits, governors, talking heads and hold key positions like Howard Dean does.

Fonda was the beginning of a mentally ill person becoming a liberal cult hero.

We never would have won WWII if the ROP faction had been granting pagan and nature worship religious status to the Nazis and the Japanese.

Pawsh! But it was so cruel for the U.S. to force Hirohito to renounce his status as a deity! [/sarcasm]

No, seriously. You raise an excellent point. And, welcome to FR. We're very glad to have you here!

Howard Dean, the Clintoons, J efFn'Kerry, oh nevermind the list just keeps on going. I vaguely remember when there were mental institutions. Governor Reagan shut them down here in CA. Do you know how hard it is for a family member to have someone admitted for 72hr observation? One of my daughter's friends mother had a "little" problem with Meth. They had her admitted, but when she failed the drug test, they released her. If Meth doesn't make you crazy, what does?

I think you're correct that some of these people ARE certifiable lunatics. The Rachel Corrie picture showing her ripping up an American flag, while being surrounded by bemused children? Cuckoo! Imo, Jane Fonda knew exactly what she was doing, however all the idiots followed along like the sheep brained humans they are. No offense to sheep.

Perhaps it is not so much mental illness, but unsuspecting young adults being brainwashed by MSM and the public school system? I mean we don't see the shopping cart brigades leading the anti war protest marches, do we?

For the homeless at least, I wish they would reinstitute the policy of commitment. OTOH, the way this country is going, they'd lock up all the conservatives.

Yes, BayouCoyote, Thank you.

A very busy summer. Great to see you!

As you can see, the enemy doesn't take the summer off! It's time to finish what we started!

They admit they want total world domination, and we are so arrogant we think that it can NEVER happen here. Well, we better wake up. They are using our democracy, our Constitution, our lawyers (ACLU) and our own courts to gain power. Look at what they have done elsewhere.

Thoughtcrime Law Passes UK Vote

What about the Koran?

In an earlier Commons debate, a Conservative MP raised the possibility that the law, if passed, could outlaw the reading of passages of the Koran that called for harsh treatment against Christians and Jews.

Following those assertions, a delegation of prominent Muslims held talks last week with the government minister responsible for the bill, Paul Goggins, to check whether the legislation could affect reading and quoting from the Koran and other Islamic texts such as the Hadith -- the traditional sayings of Mohammed and other early Muslim figures.

There were concerns in the Muslim community "that dawah [proselytizing] and propagatory practices may be curtailed under the new legislation," the Muslim Weekly reported.

The delegation suggested that it may be preferable to "totally exempt" Islamic texts from the bill.

They admit the shoe fits.

Except to cheer

In a reaction similar to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in New York, the blood spilt in the London terror attacks has been celebrated within the Palestinian territories...

Here's the text of the UK's "Racial and Religious Hatred" bill: http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200506/cmbills/011/2006011.htm

This is totally unacceptable in a free society. How long before this sort of legislation will arise in America?

We'd better speak our minds now while the thought police don't yet have the power to control the expressions of of opinion.

This is exactly what I mean by rejecting Blair's comment that terrorism will not change our way of life. It already has. The government is encroaching more and more on the lives of ordinary citizens in order to defend itself against the Islamic cancer that only grows in that religion's practitioners.

This shall not stand.

Well, I for one, am known to speak my mind. The less politically correct, the better.

Hey USF...I was confused by some of the Little Green Footballs article. It states that some Muslim factions were lobbying for the ThoughtCrime Law yet others were against it. What's your take on that matter? I haven't been following it closely enough to understand that aspect.

I agree John.

I had conversation with another FReeper a while ago... wondering what we could do to wake people up. Islam can not stand criticism, because the it will reveal the ugly truth about its founder, and his vile intolerant ideology.

It's like a darkness that can not stand the light.

I ask myself what proportion of the general population know what words like dhimmi, darul harb or bidah mean, and how we may make real progress in the WOT if folks were more informed.

The enemy knows this too, and this is precisely what they fear.

They want it to protect them from those who tell the truth about their cult and its vile founder... as long as their own right to use Islamic texts to direct hatred and violence at the kuffar is protected.

Over on Khalifah, they were worried that parts of the koran would be banned, and thats why they were against it. But seeing as that will not be the case, they are happy to pressure the kuffar bring in self enforced dhimmitude.

Thx USF. I just read the bill and while I guess it might be applied against non-Muslims (for example, against somethings said here on FR), it would be mostly applicable to Muslims themselves.

And wanting to kill Islam should not incite hatred against Muslims, just hatred of their foul, demonic cult.

Am I missing something?

It's like a darkness that can not stand the light.

The west survived convulsions based on religion and race during the Nazi and Shinto military cult regimes in Germany, Italy, and Japan in the 1930s. We thought we were protecting the human race by inoculating ourselves against cultural prejudice. This, and I believe America's recovery from its own, bitter Civil War, were the historic seeds planted that produced Political Correctness. Don't have any strong opinions; don't categorize people by their culture; don't hold strong opinions unless they are against people who do have strong opinions.

And so on.

Islamists are using this very fear of strong dislike for savage cultures against us.
