Jihad Is Knocking: Another Episode in the War between Christendom and Islam - (sensational piece!)
VICTOR HANSON.COM ^ | JULY 10, 2005 | BRUCE THORNTON

The slaughter in London is another grisly wake-up call that likely will go as unheeded as earlier ones. Already the standard narrative is being trotted out: evildoers created by what the New York Times predictably called the “root causes of terrorism”: autocracy, or economic stagnation, or Palestinian suffering, or globalization's dislocations, or Western historical sins, or the war in Iraq (the cause will depend on the political prejudices of the pundit) have “hijacked” Islam and distorted its peaceful message.

And now they are using Islam to justify murder in order to further their own ambitions or dysfunctional psychic needs. Given this explanation, so the story goes, we must be careful not to demonize all Muslims and assure them that we respect their religion and culture. The tale is then wrapped up with fierce threats against the terrorists and protestations of admiration for Islam.

Believing this delusion requires that one ignores fourteen centuries of Islamic jihad against the West, a war of conquest and colonization ratified by centuries of Islamic theology and jurisprudence. Indeed, what we call Islamic radicals are in fact Islamic traditionalists; it is the so-called “moderates” — those wanting to compromise Islam so it can coexist with Western ideas such as secular government, separation of church and state, and human rights — who are the radicals and innovators.

The terrorists are simply fulfilling the traditional and orthodox command of their religion to battle the infidels who resist the revelation of Mohammed and the global socio-political order mandated by Islam.

Listen to one of the most respected and influential of Muslim clerics, Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, on the legitimacy of jihad:

typical -- there is no comparison between the IRA's activities and the activities ofIslamic nutjobs -- the sheer number of dead, the cold-blooded killing, the fact that during the killings the 'moderate' uslims CELEBRATE the killing of innocents as opposed to the IRA's activities all belie your statement.

It may come to that rather quickly, but that is not a solution to the problem.

I'd say internment and deportation is just one element of a whole set of policy changes that are required. A primary example of inept and dangerous policy is the $3 billion USD recently pledged at G8 for Palestinian Arabs.

My concern is that Blair and Bush announced that "our way of life" wouldn't change after the 7/7 bombings. But what they really mean is that Americans will have less privacy, less access to Habeas Corpus, and more intrusion by big government. We'll spend more of our GNP on defensive measures that will do little to stop another thousand casualties from happening whenever and where ever "peaceful" fundamentalist Muslims suddenly lose their faux commitment to pluralism and bomb our children.

I agree...if Bush and Blair have a clue, they sure aren't sharing it.

You forgot the DC Sniper - John Mohammed.

Its time for another flight of the Enola Gay.

As Churchill said of the Germans:

They are either at your throat or at the bottom of your boot.

Bogus essay. We are not at war with Islam and Muslims, but with terrorists.

We are at war with Islam. I have yet to see a terrorist that wasn't Muslim, have you? THAT is the root of terrorism, and THAT is why we want the borders closed. They can enter our country illegally right along with the Mexicans.

I don't know what's going on with the President, but I don't blame him for being unhappy. Even though this is his last term in office, his decisions will have an impact on the Republican party. Even more serious, they will seriously impact our future as a country.

The war in Iraq is going better than expected, thank God. On the domestic front however, things are not going so well. I am concerned that Bush is not taking our security into consideration, regarding illegal immigration. I am concerned that he doesn't seem to see the huge problems that thousands of these folks have on infrastructure. This is extremely frustrating.

All we have to do, is to look at the European countries that have allowed unbridled immigration that has redefined their culture and political leanings. Look at the crime, and acts of terror that have sprung up since the "religion of peace" has gotten a foothold.

We have a rather vocal contingent, although small, who will sit on these threads, and attempt to stifle any meaningful discussion on these topics. The British people have my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of life they suffered. Now they have to sh*tcan the sensitivity, and let loose with the Bulldogs of war.

Here's what I was told by an Iranian Muslim -- what's located in the center at Mecca is the alter on which the sacrifice was to be made. Alters can be moved? I didn't ask a lot of questions. At the time (pre 9/11) I only had a passing interest in the story, so I wouldn't bet the farm on all of it ... but I do know the building in the center of Mecca is connected to Abraham. My concern is cultures have myths they live by -- myths that get incorporated in ways that aren't challenged. And near absolute authority is one of those... Each Imam has the power to sentence a person to death. This doesn't exist in modern religions. When UBL wanted permission to nuke the US, he didn't have to get "permission" beyond the equivalent of a parish priest. Frightening. It implies worse.

Too many ideas have gone unchallenged in the middle east - and within their xenophobic cultures, it's fine, well, fine until they come in contact with others. Then it's deadly. Lots of puzzle pieces to be put together - but this I know -- understanding the enemy opens up one more level we can fight them on...

No, I'm suggesting that we deport public converts to Islam and revoke all known Islamic immigrants. We should start tomorrow. There might well be some green eyed and blue eyed citizen converts. I'd put them first on the list.

On another thread that was focusing on Islamic terrorists in Britain, someone posted a pic of one. The apparent ringleader has ginger colored hair, and would never be suspected sitting in a British or Irish pub. There are ME people who are caucasion in appearance.

Are you starting to notice vertigo yet? It's what happens when you explain yourself rationally and factually, and the other poster has no intention of replying to the points you are trying to make. All you'll get is the same line of reasoning.

It's our political leadership. Some people want to make a career out of appearing loyal. The objects of their adoration churn out cognitive dissonance day in and day out, so they do, too.

I find it insulting that you think that I was "called in as a reinforcement." I happened to be reading this thread and thought to express my own opinion. I do no one's bidding on this forum.

You're insulted? When I saw your post, I knew someone FReepmailed you over here! I have gotten to the point on certain threads, when I know someone is going to show up to help a brother out. Depending on the topic, I'm getting pretty good at guess which particular reinforcements will be called in ;-)

Don't feel insulted, just because most of us here are wise to this tactic, and which posters participate.

In reply to your comment about objecting to deportation based on religion, unfortunately Islam is not only a religion, it is a political system. Your country isn't run by the Vatican or the head of the Methodist Church. These people worship their god in life and political expression. Their political beliefs do not belong here. Ask the poor Canadians. Their idiotic courts are considering allowing Sha'ria laws to be enforced. Coming to you soon, a stoning in your public park.

Screw these people and the trojan horses they snuck in on. That's my opinion

Cool. Dhimmitude is not the way I want to spend my last days. I do not want my daughters shuffling around in bedsheets. I do not want my granddaughters auctioned off to a grown man. They are indeed fighting for a spiritual cause, and they don't care for any inducements we could give them in the name of peace or appeasement.

They are either at your throat or at the bottom of your boot. Yep, and guess who the Nazis were playing footsie with? Islamic Jihadist Terrorists! Churchill was right, and this quote applies to the modern Nazis as well.

The building at the center of the Kaaba is the house that Abraham and Ishmael built together.

Cognitive dissonance. I like that! You know. if God forbid we experience another attack, some of these folks will be the first ones screaming for somebody to do something.

I'm not sure what sort of an attack would cause the hardened ones on this thread to change. I've asked them each if 7,000,000 injuries/casualties would be enough. I have yet to read one single answer to that question.

I think the inability for these fair weather 'patriots' to process that question is more terrifying than the terrorists.
