The issue, though, is whether it was common knowledge she was covert. And also whether Rove told anyone she was covert.
Apparently, he did not.
The SP told Rove that he was not being investigated.
It seems that the SP does not like being lied to. Thus the pressure on the reporters.
I'm pretty sure if you are a known CIA agent you couldn't possibly be covert.
"The issue, though, is whether it was common knowledge she was covert "
If everyone knew she worked there, I think that rules out being covert.
She wasn't covert, or at least she hadn't been for 4 or 5 years.Even when she was covert, she told Joe Wilson that she was a CIA agent on the first night that she met him. Who knows who else she was telling. The woman sounds like a security threat, herself.
It looks like Rove did not give her name......and did not mention that she was covert.
It looks like he did not even know here name or that she may have been covert.
It looks like she may have not even been covert.
The Newsweak article points out that there is nothing to suggest that Rover gave her name or mentioned anything about her being an "agent".
Its pretty clear she was not "covert". How covert was it for Joe Wilson to advertise she worked at the CIA on his website?
