A Morgan County priest is pushing the state's top law enforcement official to crack down on abortion clinics that fail to report suspected cases of statutory rape. Father James Henderson, a pro-life activist from Somerville, says Alabama clinics have "covered up" as many as 490 rapes in the past four years by not telling police about girls 16 or younger who have become pregnant by older men.
By law, doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers, day care employees and members of the clergy must call authorities if they suspect a child has been abused or neglected. Those who don't can be fined $500 and sentenced to up to six months in jail.
Although Henderson did not cite specific instances of abortion clinics flouting the rules, he pointed to a study by a pro-life group called Life Dynamics that found adult men cause the vast majority of pregnancies in girls younger than 16. He also referred to a report by the Alabama Center for Health Statistics showing that 37 girls under age 14 have had abortions in the state since 2001.
The fact an underage girl is pregnant ought to raise the suspicion of clinic employees and trigger the reporting requirement, he said.
"All we want is the truth on the table," Henderson said Thursday. "Even if there was one (rape) and the perpetrator is going free, it's one too many."
The amazingly lucrative abortion industry hides many, many dark, evil secrets. Rape, murder, maternal deaths, sexual abuse, and abortion-induced sterility are common in these medical hellholes, almost universally despised by most physicians.
Exactly. The liberal courts will cover up ANYTHING if it has any connection to an abortion clinic. Maternal deaths, statutory and violent rape cases, unsanitary conditions, incompetent doctors, refusal to let patients change their minds after they enter the clinic. You name it and they do it.
The number of abortion doctors who have been prosecuted for manslaughter and incompetence is minuscule. Indeed, it only happens when a case is so flagrant and so public that the authorities are forced to act.
They are far more dangerous than the "back alley" abortions of the old days, because these incompetent and greedy doctors are protected by the law virtually no matter what they do.
You nailed it.
According to Life Dynamics website, Fox News has run a story and several state's Attorney Generals are investigating.

IT's the corporate abortion alley. And they were accusing us of manufacturing it....
A priest that wants someone to report statutory rape? Pot calling Kettle, come in Kettle...
I'm sure Planned Parenthood will immediately follow up on this considering their pronounce concern for families. /s
Are you saying that all priests are rapists?
I don't doubt that a bit. I've never been inside one of them and don't plan to change that, but I suspect they're the sleazy grunge of the medical industry, people without conscience, people primarily motivated by a lust for money and nothing else.

You're committing calumny against this priest, unless you can prove something about him that the rest of us don't know about.
He is not saying that ALL abortion clinics are doing this, just that the ones about which he has information should be investigated. Don't you think that, if it were a priest abuse case, the Alabama AG would be all over it like white on rice? Why not investigate the sexual abuse of minor girls by older men? Many folks excoriated the Bishops for running interference for abusive priests, and rightly so; shouldn't the same be done to those not willing to investigate abortion clinics for political reasons?
I guess it depends on whose ox is being gored.
Just imagine trying to teach Boy Scout/Aristotelian-Ciceronian Ethics 101
to a bunch of abortion clinic staffers!!!
"A priest that wants someone to report statutory rape? Pot calling Kettle, come in Kettle..."
The bashing continues...
99% of priests are faithful and holy people.
If you spent enough time with a good parish priest you wouldn't be bashing the commitment that most of them make.
I am offended by comments like this.
Prayer will close these places down. Get some people together and go picket and pray across the street from them. If you save one baby's life it will be well worth it!
Why are you Catholic-bashing and judging one priest by a standard set by some?
Generalitieis are called 'spin' on FR.
You know better, don't you?
