Baltimore police said yesterday they raided an East Baltimore clothing store allegedly used as a front for the illegal sale of high-powered weapons and accessories, including assault rifles, shotguns, handguns, ammunition and body armor.
Organized-crime detectives raided the store, Moon Wear in the 2400 block of Greenmount Ave. on Thursday, about 15 hours after its owner, Andre Mills, 33, was pulled over on a traffic stop, police said. During the stop, officers said they discovered ammunition for high-powered rifles.
Police obtained a warrant and searched the store, recovering one Bushmaster assault rifle, three handguns, a Mossberg shotgun equipped with a sidewinder drum magazine and laser sight, 34 handgun magazines, five holsters, 100 boxes of shotgun shells and about 1,000 rounds of ammunition, including rounds used in AK-47 assault rifles. Police also recovered $1,200 in cash.
"We do believe [the suspect] was trafficking firearms" from the store, said Anthony Barksdale, acting chief of the department's organized crime division. "It looks like we got quite a bit of weapons, but some might be on the street."

Most gunnies I know have the philosophy "If you know how much you have, you don't have enough"
Actually, my first thought was "If I lost this "Cache" from my collection, how soon would I notice?"
three handguns-Oooh?
, a Mossberg shotgun equipped with a sidewinder drum magazine and laser sight- the drum magazine and the laser are legal ( speaks volumes having a laser sight on a SHOTGUN ), unless this Bro' has a duck stamp attached to his leather jacket, he's legal.
, 34 handgun magazines-Boy,oh boy with tissues and a handy jar of powder solvent. He has all the fixins necessary for a circle jerk handgun fantasy!
Just look at those evil Nazi book burners!, think about all that knowledge going up in smoke!
five EMPTY holsters- talk about "going off half cocked!" Those empty holsters fit right in with the hand-gun fantasy mentioned above!, 100 boxes of shotgun shells and about 1,000 rounds of ammunition, I'm sure the rounds were spread out all over the guys mattress. including rounds used in AK-47 assault rifles- Oooooh, bad boy but no actual ak-47's. He's dreaming again!
Police also recovered $1,200 in cash- it's a clothing store, "Paging Detective Nitwits!
Pick up the plastic Matel Rainbow Courtesy Phone"
As a convicted felon he was not allowed to have ANY firearms.
Organized-crime detectives raided the store, Moon Wear
Is the owner of Moon wear a moon bat liberal?
My first thought was, "I wonder if this guy knows John Muhammed or Lee Malvo?"
Okay, and how does his legal status affect the relative size of the "cache" which was the point ,and the only point, of my response?
What a bunch of fairies. That sounds like my bedroom closet. Guess we know where all the East German (i think) Stasi went.
Hey, I've never been on probation either, but I do know that you are subject to searches and have a lot of limits to your actions. Carrying ammunition is one of the biggies.
Simple possession of a firearm that the government doesn't like should never be a crime, especially a felony, since the Constitution quite clearly states, "Shall not be infringed".
Or do you have some magical insight into what was going on here?

These are things we want illegal in this country? Especially with a terror threat going on? Shouldn't we ALL be walking around armed to the teeth?
One smack of the post button, two posts. Neat-o.
That would have been a miserly minimum when I used to take one of the kids to the range
Not really!
Good point. But they never put the meaningful statements up front.
"Why would you want laser sights on a semi-auto shotgun?
Home defense. Traditional sights are hard to use in dim light."
You must have one BIG house!
Police also "stole" $1,200 in cash.
Case in point... This one.
I've heard similar stories out of Isreal. We should be doing this here. All of us. Not prosecuting people because the government doesn't like certain people to have guns to begin with.
