he should consider staying a little farther away from higher basic mathematics, though.

I guess we have no choice but to throw Franken off the Sears Tower and see who's right. What have we got to lose? 300 pounds of ugly fat?

...32 feet per second per second...You beat me too it. Blatant mistakes like that bother me when the author is trying to sound educated.

Who is Al Franken? Michael Moore's father and Ted Kennedy's nephew.

32 feet per second per secondThat's how Cherry probably wrote it, but a copy editor, being a copy editor, probably read that and just knew it had to be a mistake....

The increase in deaths followed the actions by Newsweek and Durbin. That doesn't mean the increase was caused by those actions. Which doesn't mean the increase wasn't caused by those actions, either.
Thanks for your contribution.

There are a few laws that govern life. For example, if you drop Al Franken from the Sears Tower in Chicago, gravity will drive him into the pavement at a rate of thirty two feet per second. Ooh! Ooh! Let's try it.
A diet of fudge, pixy sticks and Schlitz will eventually result in a sensation not unlike indigestion, and some shooting pains in your left arm.
Ooh! Ooh! Let's tr...oh, never mind, Michael Moore already is.

Awesome post! And so true!
I'm wondering how newsweek and durbin could possible be so dumb that they didn't have any idea what their actions would lead to. It seems deliberate to me.

My apologies for the 32 ft per second thing. It seems to be distracting people from the goal of the column. It is not intended to be bad mathmatics, but a little inside joke for fans of the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" series.

Favorite line:
"Liberals are handicapped in the area of pattern recognition. That is why the sun rising every morning still takes these folks by complete surprise."
The more I think aboout that, the more sense it makes. Liberals seem totally unable to recognize patterns, until it's way too late.

Does anyone remember Albright dancing the hula in front of the PRK Presidium at their birthday bash? No, but just visualizing it has made me decide to put off having breakfast for at least another half hour. If I have a Madeleine Albright nightmare tonight, I'm going to blame this post.

My God, don't you know what you are proposing?
An impact like that could cause a fracture in the earth's crust which could expand and spread all the way down into the mantle!
There would be sympathetic earthquakes on the other side of the world (HOLD-MUST CHECK GLOBE TO SEE IF THOSE SYMPATHETIC EARTHQUAKES APPEAR IN THE SYRIA OR IRAN OR SOMEPLACE REALLY IMPORTANT LIKE THE SOUTH PACIFIC BASIN VOID)
Etc. At the worst, we could have a natural disaster of gigantic proportions. At best, Al Franken would be a grease spot with some damage to Syria and Iran!

Asking a liberal to appreciate what the military has meant to this country is akin to asking a sloth to appreciate the branches that keep it high above the predators. Worth repeating
