Often times my students ask me what scares me the most. I often respond that nuclear weaponry in the hands of terrorists are what I think the greatest threat to humanity is. But in my heart, I know this is untrue.

My greatest fear is not what they can do to us, it is what we can do to them. Save for self-imposed restraint, what is there stopping us from doing unto the entire middle east and beyond what Alexander did to Persia, Rome to Carthage, Europe to the Aztecs and Incas, or even America to the Indians.

What is the history of the 20h century but Europeans trying to annihilate each other from the face of the earth. And the truth is, Germany damn near accomplished it.

Learn from history and learn well dear enemy for you shall not like the results. You have once before been destroyed but 1258 was a very long time ago and very different enemy. Then you faced one who more or less resembles yourself today, a nomadic despiser of civilization. And you too share their same defects: factionalism, tribalism, cultural stagnation in the face of change. And you too can share their same fate: extinction.

Great article, and it makes the point that I've been kicking around for some time now. These Islamic jokers don't realize who they're fooling with. Europe can and someday will clean some serious clock, once aroused. So can we Americans.

Marauder -- I would very much like to agree with you, but I cannot. I fear Europe -- as we know it today -- is lost.

Just take this one small example of the demographics concerned: Leicester, UK is now over 50% Muslim; and that is but one small example of what happens when the Anglo birthrate is 0.9-1.0 -- and the immigrant Muslim rate is 2.4 -- and rising.

Extrapolate that over two generations (40 years), and the results are self-evident. The fact that Los Angeles has an Hispanic Mayor is no accident, but the result of the racial makeup of the voting blocs!

Such eminent Historians and Political Scientists as Bernard Lewis and Sam Huntington both have extensively validated this dire prognosis.

Western Democracy is currently is in a civilizational conflict for its very survival. Europe is getting the attention now, because it is in play. But Lost!

Get real. It is now the governing ideology in every country in the West that nationhood is wrong, that is is wrong to even desire that your nation continue its historical existence . In that they agree with the terrorists, though they disagree on the means and end.
