Galloway's words after attacks invoke fury of MPs
The Scotsman ^ | Fri 8 Jul 2005 | JOE CHURCHER

Posted on 07/07/2005 6:13:28 PM PDT by Laverne

GEORGE Galloway was accused by a senior minister last night of "dipping his poisonous tongue in a pool of blood", after the former Labour MP warned the terrorist attacks in the capital will not be the last.

The outspoken Respect MP for Bethnal Green and Bow and anti-war campaigner hit back at his accuser, the armed forces minister Adam Ingram, likening him to a "foul-mouthed ... thug".

Sylvia Heal, the Deputy Speaker, had to intervene, reminding the House that "good temper and moderation" were the hallmarks of language in the Commons and they should remember that on this day of all days.

The bitter spat in the dying moments of a defence debate came after MPs had united in sorrow and condemnation of the terrorist attacks across London.

In an earlier statement, Mr Galloway said Londoners had "paid the price" for Tony Blair's decision to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the Commons debate, Mr Galloway condemned the "despicable act", but he warned that the Iraq war and other actions had created a "whole army of people out there that want to harm us".

"Let there be no equivocation: the primary responsibility for the bloodshed this morning lies with those who carried out the acts," the Respect MP said. "But it would be utterly crass to ... separate these acts from the political backdrop against which they took place."

Julian Lewis, a Tory front-bench spokesman, delivered a stinging rebuke to Mr Galloway at the close of the debate, and Mr Ingram went further, accusing his former party colleague of "dipping his poisonous tongue in a pool of blood."

He added: "I think it is disgraceful."

Jihad IS WWIII.

Without a doubt, this is the case. I'm growing tired of all the folks who try to find excuses for the inexcusable. "Oh, it is because of our adventures in the Middle East." Right, what was the excuse for 9/11 then? Or does it change based upon the prevailing wind. These plots have been multi-year adventures that only seek a present cover for their reason. The Madrid bombings were planned before the millennium, yet the excuse is because of Spanish troops in Iraq.

Enough of the bull. They have declared war, they've shown us that they're willing to bring that war to our streets, so fine, get the troops out and send them to their streets. Let them go blow themselves up killing our soldiers. I don't want our troops to die, or anyone's troops to die, but that is what they are paid to do - to protect the civilian population from enemies. The troops will do nothing domestically, they have to go to the Middle East, and God Bless those troops for fighting on the front lines.

Thousands of wackos who would have been on their way to here or elsewhere are dead because the enemy has fought our troops.

Lets just hope the British people don't react to this attack the way the Spanish did. IMHO, last year's attacks totally unhinged the Spanish, who responded by:

a. Voting out their Conservative government and electing appeasers
b. Giving the green light to the building of mosques across Spain
c. Legalizing gay marriage (and this in a country that supposedly had a "macho" fixation).

"These barbarians are going to necessitate that we do something really radical: defeat them with EVERY means needed."

Yep, it's time these people felt a little terror. Unfortunately, this isn't going to happen when they get better accomodations as prisoners, than they do as patrons in their own country. I wonder if Durbin has any idea of just what a fool he looks after today.

Check out my self defense website. One of our instructors is in Iraq and has sent some great pictures. Please send him an email to.

This is not a joke. He loves emails and feedback. Look at the pic of him in Saddam's throne too! Also check out the picture with Col. North!

Can't take your wager because I believe your right and have said so on another thread. In fact, we have our own cells here in the US.

George Galloway is a opportunistic two-bit sleazebag. He is the "Lord Haw-Haw" of the 21st century.

You can add to your list the attempted assassination of the Pope and Bobby Kennedy.

You said........Galloway says he despises what the terrorists are doing while he is in fact justifying their motivation for committing these horrific acts.

Mr Galloway is a phoney, dishonest mentally deranged terrorist sympathizer.

In other words, he;s a Liberal DEMOCRAT!

Civilized words cannot describe Galloway.

I leave it at that, as he literally shames humanity.

"he warned that the Iraq war and other actions had created a "whole army of people out there that want to harm us"."

It was Iraq. It was Iraq. It was Iraq. It was Iraq. It was Iraq...well, except ALL THOSE OTHER ACTS OF TERROR PRIOR TO 2003.
