Breaking news - Governor Romney has just announced the threat level has been elevated to orange in Boston and four other cities.
Is this just a defensive measure, or is it in response to hard intelligence? I suspect the former.
Why is the Mass. governor announcing an elevated alert level for NYC, DC & Atlanta?
Probably just someone at the pentagon hit the wrong button :)
No way! Those cities are just chock full of good decent liberals who hate America just as much as the terrorists.
My husband and daughter are on their way to a baseball game in D.C. I can't get a hold of my husband (cell phone off!) I hope he changes his mind and comes home.
He is announcing it for Boston and saying that Boston and 4 other cities have been asked to elevate it. He's doing it immediately. Not sure what the other cities are doing.
Update Boston: Substantial police presence in/at downtown subway stations. Otherwise, situation normal/bums sleeping comfortably in Boston Common.
Do you have a link or source?

Isn't that the truth!
I suprised that they don't willingly sign up with AQ. They view America the same way.
I don't recall Al Quaeda ever having orchestrated same day attacks on the scale of the London attack.I'd say it practically warrants a lowering of the alert level.
Link please?
Threat Level Orange.... let's see, that tells me...roughly...nothing.
Maybe I've been living in a hole but it's the first time I've seen a city-specific alert elevation rather than the whole country.
You don't call 9/11 an orchestrated attack?
I saw some A10s overhead this morning. Pretty rare over southern Michigan. They were headed in the direction of Detroit. Likely just patrolling the airspace around the city.
It's been done that way before. There was the threat to Newark and other cities.
The governor was on the local NBC, CBS, and ABC stations.
