I don't recall Al Quaeda ever having orchestrated same day attacks on the scale of the London attack.I'd say it practically warrants a lowering of the alert level.

What if the terrorists tried to pull an attack on July 4th and weren't able to? London would be their fallback target. Now they figure the police are resting after a long weekend. In Boston all the state troopers who worked the night shift are being asked to stay.
