IMo, people are sick and tired of the liberal and homosexual agenda being shoved down their throats.

I can take an actor being liberal, and endorsing a liberal candidate. What I hate are the ones, like Saranwrap and BStreisand thinking there word is gospel. Add to that the loons, like Cameron DeAss going on Oprah and claiming that re-electing George W. Bush will bean that rape will be made legal.

ROTFLOL! ...Like Bernie Goldberg said on Fox & Friends this morning, Al Franken was funny when he was on 'Saturday Night Live'; and that's been at least over a decade ago.

I am really surprised that we haven't had an Abu Ghraib/Koran-abuse movie rushed into the theaters.

Overexposed celebrities are a turn off to seeing a movie. If I do go to a movie, it is usually in spite of who's in it, not because of who's in it.

An aside: I just saw a commercial for a cosmetic product I would love to buy -- but Susan Sarandon was in the commercial. Too bad, Revlon.

Overexposed celebrities are a turn off to seeing a movie. ...You bet. Remember that mega-bomb 'Gigli' with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez?

I wonder if he married Jennifer Garner because he has the name Jennifer tattooed somewhere.

I resolved a few years ago to stop putting my money into the pockets of liberal Hollywood types. I did the same.
I refuse to support an industry committed to insulting me with their product. I refuse to support court jesters who think they're kings.
I resent the banality of movies that show endless Hollywood lounge lizards and lowlifes in Ancient Rome, in the Middle ages, in middle America, in almost every movie they put out.
We "get" the people who don't want to follow the rules, the woman as slut, the female teenager as brilliant, the teenage boy as geek, the adult man as eternal teenager, the kids as smart, the husband as stupid and the wife as fool. It's not original, not charming and not worth the price of a ticket.
Oh yeah, and the villains. The villains are the opposite of those in the red states. Hollywood hates the person who might stop their exploitive antics. Therefore the policeman is a villain and the thug is a hero. The person in the military is sadistic and the gang member is wise. The whore/slut is charming, the wife is a drag. The teacher is the one who cares about the child and the father isn't. In the real world, it's the exact opposite. It's stupid. Brain numbingly stupid. Self-serving narcissistic painfully stupid.

It's not a question of what it costs to go to the movies. During the depression, people had far less disposable income than they do today, and they still went to the movies. Why? Because they were light and uplifting. The movies didn't cost a lot to make (compared to today) and the stars were sold as wholesome and all American.
Today, Hollywood is filled with hate America types and we're just not going to spend our money on them.
Also, the movies are unimaginative and dull. Lots of special effects, but they say nothing, there is no story.

Cinderella Man was a good movie this year. What struck me most while watching it was that it was about (and was clearly made by) people who were heterosexual. The men loved women. The women loved men. And they both loved their children. The adults were willing to sacrifice for each other and their youngsters. Other than The Incredibles, I can't remember another recent film about which this could be said.

Sounds to me like you may have read Ben Shapiro's new book...or at least if you haven't, go give it a look-see.
...Of course your post is spot-on, not to mention the outrageous prices you have to pay to sit in any first-run theatre...since I have the privilege of being a military veteran, I go to watch movies for free on base.

It's a shame that they couldn't have given it a better title. Cinderella Man sounds like something starring Harvey Fierstein.

I seem to recall from our past history during WWII, Hollywood was BEHIND our military and our CINC's. Where is this Hollywood today???
