A contingent of conservatives talk radio hosts is headed to Iraq this month on a mission to report "the truth" about the war: American troops are winning, despite headlines to the contrary.

The "Truth Tour" has been pulled together by the conservative webcast radio group Rightalk.com and Move America Forward, a non-profit conservative group backed by a Republican-linked public relations firm in California.

That would mean talking to ordinary Iraqis.

Wow what a concept. Has the MSM ever thought of doing this?

Elis Hennigan(sp) was on Fox last nite battling with Melanie Morgan over this trip...and it is obvious that the so-called MSM is really threatened by this venture. Before anything has even been written, the Left is lambasting it as propaganda simply because the Pentagon may be picking up part of the tab for security.

As Melanie pointed out, most of these talk-show hosts are spending upwards of $15K of their own money...something MSM reporters never do, as they and their "embedded" brethren were always provided the same treatment. This is just another preemptive attack by the left to justify their monopoly on information, which is shrinking daily.

"They have no idea what journalism is, and to pretend they are journalists is laughable," Beinart said. "You do not achieve victory by not facing reality. I think these are the kinds of people that will lead us to lose there."

Journalism is just soooooo hard. None of the unwashed masses should even attempt such a thing. Their heads might explode and the mere thought.

Yeah...and it's freightening that these so-called professional journalists can't smell their own hypocrisy when they are the ones who have given journalism a bad name.

Were have these people been for the last few years as their Titans have fallen by the way-side for attempts at creating their "own" realities. In fact, this is exactly why the Democrats are so brazen of late...as their media brethren contiune to create for them a reality that doesn't exist.

Let the other side call it propaganda. When we are at war, this nation needs to hear good news. The leftist media gives us enough of the bad.

I'm not sure I'd call what the show hosts are doing propaganda, but I sure wish our government would actually create some and get it out there like WWII.

That's not an opinion, that's a fact. She intellectually body slammed that pencil necked sissy. All he had was the security money lie, and she slapped him down with reality. Ellis is as trite, contrived, and appallingly boring as Estrich and Beckel.

It takes years of training and experience to sit around some Green Zone pub with your fellow travelers, deciding which unsubstantiated anti-American rumors are fit to groupthink into "reality", and thinking of new and creative ways to pad your expense account. If only we were smarter and more caring, we just might get it.

Hmmm . . . journalism used to mean reporting only the FACTS, not engaging in editorial journalism or bias. This is the first thing I learned in a high school journalism class. Seems to me that the mainstream media is mostly left leaning in their reporting of the "facts." I applaud the efforts of the conservative talk show hosts who are going to Iraq to learn the truth. It is too bad that their reports back will not be aired on mainstream news shows or printed in mainstream newspapers who are not interested in the truth about the war.

The shrillness from the left over this exposes their fear. That's good news in and of itself.

The tour is a great idea, and I look forward to the reports.Fox will be covering it.

The idea that "journalism" involves only facts is a msm commie creation. Any idiot with a ten cent #2 pencil can write in their own journal. The issue is whether you are presenting what you do as news reporting or news analysis/commentary. "News" *should* involve facts, analysis/commentary involves conclusions, i.e., opinions. It is impossible to completely filter personal bias but there is at least some truth in advertising to the extent that a person labels what they do as "news" or "analysis/commentary." A "news reporter" is supposed report inarguable fact; i.e., there was a trainwreck today. Talk radio hosts by definition do analysis/commentary; the trainwreck was caused by global warming. Calling any scribbler a "journalist" (buying into the commie fabrication that a scribbler does news-facts) implies something that is not by definition the case. A "newsman" is *supposed* to do facts, a typical "journalist" does whatever he wants and calls it "news." Calling these talk radio hosts "journalists" as the lefties have done (implying they will be doing "news") sets up the bogus premise for the left to push over that these people are there to report only inarguable fact when they will be reporting facts as well as their opinions. It's typical commie wordsmithing with straw-man arguments that they are experts at.

Didn't we have pro-American Soldier movies being made during World War II? If hollywierd wanted to turn their fortunes back around, they would put out a couple of good old fashioned "propaganda" movies. I would pay to go see one, especially, if they have a camio with Shawn Pinn being run over by a Stryker.

Hollywood has become so disgusting. I won't go to the theatres and pay any money for the garbage they are cranking out. I do watch those old WWII films that are both patriotic and uplifting. It's amazing the contrast between Hollywood back then and now. You had big name movie stars signing up to go fight like Clark Gable and bandleader Glenn Miller who lost his life after being shot down over Europe. Now they don't offer to join nor do they even support our troops. They suck and they won't get any more of my money.
