Mountain Brook High School graduate Natalee Holloway went missing May 30 during a senior trip to Aruba.

I don't get the connection you are making to the football playing twins. Why would that necessitate the FBI getting involved?
She called them criminals specifically, and asked countries to not allow them entry. A bit much I think.
LOL...now that's funny...I don't care who your are.
I don't know if you guys are still listening, to Top95, some of the people that are calling in are speaking English, some are not but from what I hear is people are angered at the motheres PC and keeps saying "lady this is our law, innocent until proven guilty.
_______________________________________________________
top radio appears to have a "Beth" bashing call in show going on now. All calls are in response to her PC

I cannot believe one caller actually had the nerve to point the blame to Beth's family and that the FBI should be investigating THEM instead!

Wow...they are really bashing the Holloway family on the Aruba radio station.
I saw the discussion earlier in this thread about her possibly thinking she was in a cab. I didn't see it resolved. How do you know she thought she was in a cab?
You know, if they leave, that
would be very telling.
The guards didn't leave when
they were released.
Steve Croes didn't leave when
he was released.
Where the heck are they from? I hear it pronounced, but have not seen the spelling.
"Precisely. When I look back at the things I did when I was Nat's age (and I was a relatively tame kid), I can't believe how stupid I was. Teenagers think they are immortal and that's never going to change. But of course adults who forget what it was like to be a teenage on a class trip will blame poor Nat."
I agree, and so must all of you. Ten years ago, when my older daughter was around 24, she looked at me and said, "I am so sorry for the grief I put you through when I was a teenager." (She, too, was a relatively tame kid.) I thought that was so mature of her to admit that. However, if she wanted to go to Aruba with her friends at the age of 18, and I said, "No," I would have been the meanest mom on earth. She begged me for flying lessons and soloed in a Cessna at the age of 16 or 17. She seemed so mature, and her flight instructors assured me that she was one of the best students they ever had. I look back now and say, "What was I thinking?" (She didn't even have her driver's license.) If something happened to her, I would have been BH with some people blaming me. Since nothing bad happened, she and I could say that it was such a wonderful experience for her, and she was accepted into Embry Riddle.
Let's face it, we all want our kids to be happy, to spread their wings, to give them new experiences, and besides, there have been hundreds of trips made by teens to all parts of the world. If we wanted to "protect" our children, we wouldn't give them a car, or the keys to ours....we wouldn't have even given them a bicycle. I have a neighbor who's son died on his bike, one friend's son on a swing set. Do we deny our children these?
Something went so wrong here, and through all this, we've all become a little wiser. Then again, if it weren't for BH, as many of us feel, we wouldn't know about this tragedy. How many other misfortunes like this have we not heard about? It has made us all a little wiser.
I think monkeywrench's suggestion in post # 292 is a good one to a few Freepers: "Go start a safety thread."
God bless Natalee.
Surinamese ppl? lol
I think that's where their grandmother lives.
The boys were raised/ partially raised by grandma.
I just heard BHT call the two brothers suspects, not criminals and not murders.
She called them criminals.
``Two suspects were released yesterday who were involved in a violent crime against my daughter,'' Beth Holloway Twitty, mother of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, told a news conference, her voice cracking with emotion as she fought to hold back tears.
``The criminals will not only be allowed to walk freely among the tourists and citizens of Aruba but there are no limits as to where they may go,'' she said, adding, ``I'm asking all nations not to offer them a safe haven.''
again Aruban radio......
"your looking in the mirror because you are the criminal. It is time the FBI looks at your family"
another call.....
Children chanting: Free Joran! Free Joran! Free Joran!
another call..... what was your daughter doing leaving her wallet in her room.... (not sure what he was getting at.) time for you to go home...
________________________________________________________
the entire call in show is being devoted to bashing "Beth"
I guess that answers the question of how Arubans feel...

Beth is dangerous in her grief. The Arubans are very angry. She may need to leave the island for a while.

The radio station is completely out of line. The family bashing is uncalled for. BHT has never criticized the Aruban people as a whole, just the investigation and LE. By acting this way the Aruban people are pissing tourists off, and isn't that their national concern. I have been an Aruba supporter until I heard this today. I would never step foot on the island after hearing this!
She definitely called the Kalpoes just what they are--criminals. I heard it. Everyone heard it.
Paulus Van der Sloot's perfect plan to exonerate his bad seed from all charges is rolling along right on cue. No doubt Paulus's time in the clink was spent putting the fix in with his Dutch cohorts, with Van der Straten serving as go-between. Once again, money talks and $hit walks.
What better way to throw cold water on the case against Joran than eliminating the two closest witnesses--the Kalpoes, who were also complicit in the kidnapping and possibly the drugging of Natalee? The Kalpoes got an offer they cannot refuse--we let you go, you leave Aruba for good. We will even set you up with jobs in Barbados. It's a win-win situation for the Kalpoes and the Van der Sloots.
"" I can't stand the smug look on JvdS, the all knowing "no body no crime" look!""
I can't stand it either, WestCoastGal. Juran's smug look was especially bad yesterday. IMO, he knows his dad has connections in high places and he will walk.
According the article that was posted earlier, Ben King, a Dutch government official, and PVDS are buds. The following is from the article -
" The minister of justice, the political party MEP and the Dutch judges are portraying their partiality by bringing in a judge from a different Island to rule over the case yet the officials that are preparing the investigation are all friends and family of the suspect. How partial is this? Those who are preparing the investigation/case have access to all declarations, forensic reports, suspects and suspects family. Several reports by the international press have proven that the van der Sloot family is very close to the investigating team (The Dutch prosecutors office). "

Expressing my thanks to whom ever posted the above linked article. Sorry I've forgotten who posted it.
There was no age limit for drinking yet those that drank did so responsibly and no one took off to talk with locals or dance with locals or took a cab. We all walked back to the hotel and no one was lost along the way.
It really does help when people watch out for one another. Nobody stayed out all night.
Surinam, a country just north of
Brazil.
They are Surinamese.
