Mountain Brook High School graduate Natalee Holloway went missing May 30 during a senior trip to Aruba.

That bothered me, too. It bothered me that they left here at Carlos and Charlies. Maybe they resented the attention she got, or money Joran won for her (if that's not a rumor.) Maybe she and her buds had a little tiff.
There's something wrong with friends not being more cautious when they were leaving early the next day. You'd think the others, had they stayed up later at all, would have become concerned when closing time came and went and still no Nat.
Stay safe Tex. And thanks for your post on Greta/Beth. Unless I'm missing something, the "kidnapping" is purely gut instinct on Beth's part.
By the time I thought to correct the wording, I was already away from the keyboard for the day.
Again I'd like to compliment you for your informative and balanced posts.
And thanks to all who've replied to my thoughts with reasoned and civil posts. (And no thanks to self-appointed thread police, hysterics and assorted cranks and gossip mongers.) With that I've gotta leave for the day.
"On the contrary, Mr. Johns said Deepak apologized to him in jail."
Well, he's in the next cell so I don't see that as counting for much.
The brothers should have gone to the police voluntarily as soon as those guys were brought in and come clean about where they dropped off Joran. I wouldn't trust them at this point.
" I believe Weed is incorrect on the amount of one dollar bills that Jug gave Natalee, he post 300 one dollar bills when Beth stated 100 one dollar bills.""
I agree, TexKat. I'm sure I heard Beth say it was 100 - one dollar bills.
Pardon me, but there have been reports that Natalee met Joran a few days before..of course I haven't heard either his or her side of the story, but if so he was not completely strange to her. I have been to foreign countries and have gotten into vehicles with short term friends where I didn't know everyone in the vehicle..Had she been drugged, would that make a difference? How OBVIOUS would it have been to a drugged person? Would she be able to discern late at night whether the vehicle was a taxi or just a friends car? Would it have made any difference to one who was drugged? Yes bad things can happen in foreign countries, an aquantance of mine went off alone, had valium slipped into their drink and was robbed, thankfully that was all that happened to them...this was an adult male who was warned not to go off alone but did so anyway. People make mistakes but they are still victims of predators.
I'm a long time lurker, been around here since the impeachment days. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make their comments any less valid, no matter how long or how short their actual registration date.
Yes I agree registration date does not make your comments valid. I imagine it is just a coincidence both you and Gingersnaps have been around for such a long time and recently registered.
Have a nice day

Greta's blog:
After leaving the Van der Sloot house, we headed to the Kalpoe home a short distance away. The Kalpoe brothers' mother opened the door to our knock and talked to us on the porch for about 90 minutes. She has been very friendly in the past but she did not want us in the house today since both boys are now home and she did not want us to talk to her sons. After much talk, we convinced her to introduce us to Deepak (Satish was still sleeping.) We sat down with Deepak and spoke for about 30 minutes (no cameras.) His mother also sat there with us.
We talked about his interrogation, his detention and briefly about Joran. We hope to go back today and have him talk on camera. He may feel more comfortable with us today now that he has met us.
Bump and thanks!!
I'm surprised to hear Greta left Aruba. I hope this doesn't mean FOX is backing off of the story. Thanks for the udate.
Great catch, rolling_stone! I do believe you've nailed two ankle snappers!!! Too funny....
I did not take it personally gingersnaps. I don't even recall it, I don't know if it was address to me or not. I was busy researching other issues I guess.
Again I'd like to compliment you for your informative and balanced posts.
Thank you gingersnap.
Ugh, I was hoping that you would get the chance to ask Deepak about Jordan, lol. Now we probably will never hear it.
You're right. The boys are nothing but liars. They have no credibility. They aren't going to cooperate at all ever. I don't buy that they "lied for a friend". They were covering their own butts, and will continue to do so.
LOL
U.S. Terror Alert Being Raised to Orange for Trains Only
Clearly you have all the answers. They ought to call you to Aruba so you can sort it all out for them properly.
No I don't have all the answers, but at least one of the three does and it isn't that he left her on the beach alone. And contrary to your opinion I believe at least one of them knows her ultimate fate and possibly murdered her. 14 stories later he decides he just left her on the beach, amazing, obviously that story must be the truth. A little late for Aruba to request my services, they already bungled the investigation.
....What do you want the Twitty's to do, kiss the Kaploes butts after they did what they did?
Of course not. But it was a terrible blunder to make permanent enemies of them.
Why? The Kalpoes had plenty of time to tell Authorities all they knew. They should fear the family for their lies.
.....I suspect a few months ago you were a bleeding heart liberal and still are...
LOL! Actually I am, as some say, more right wing than Attila the Hun and just about the oldest and most loyal of FReepers.
Well I won't disagree with you being the oldest. I sure would like to understand why you want the Holloways to be friends with those that obstructed the investigation of their daughters disappearance and may well have been in on it....history tells us aquiescence with predators never works, they only fear and comply with other more powerful predators...
I date back to the golden days of bcjohnson (my dear friend and FR mentor), gonzo being grilled by the SS, and the frequent appearances of those wily disruptors, Ash and Eschoir.
How nice, sounds like you and Rippersnapper are old friends!
(Now anybody who knows the story behind those old names will know I've been here a long time!)
Uh don't forget deep in the Hurtgen Forest...
......Sheesh I imagine you think Bush is responsible for the London bombings too....grow up...
You sure do leap to all kinds of wild conclusions, based on...what, exactly?
Your unrealistic IMO liberal thoughts you have expressed on the Natalee case...
Look, much as I'm in a feisty mood, I'm not going to engage in a pi$$ing contest with you. That's not what Jim Robinson founded this site for, and I know he doesn't like people wasting bandwidth on such silly personal attacks.
Ok then how about responding to my previous comments instead of posting and running?

Are the Holloways and the Twittys working together to find Natalee? I've never seen the father & stepmother in company with the mother and stepfather, and none of them have even acknowledged the existence of the other in commentary.
I'm wondering if there is bad feelings brewing. Maybe the father is upset that Natalee was allowed to go on this trip in the first place. If the stepfather sent her off with a wad of cash then perhaps there is an ongoing vying for her attention.
If they aren't working together then that is just one more roadblock toward finding her.
She's a retread for a reason. There were plenty of asses here during the 'good old days', too.
... not as snippy as this one ...
