Show me what I came for. Show me what I paid for. Show me that you will deliver what you promised.
Because if you don't...if somewhere in the back rooms, part of the calculus is, Who else are they gonna vote for anyway? (other than whatever Republican is running), I'm going to vote for her to show you that I am tired of being taken for granted. Very, very tired.
How often here on FR we complain about how the Dems keep African-Americans on "the plantation"--taking them for granted, of course...BECAUSE WHO ELSE ARE THEY GOING TO VOTE FOR?
We felt a little superior, didn't we? But if the wrong nominee comes up, it only shows they were taking us for granted once again. Only this time, it's on one of the most important issues affecting our lives. (Yes, I take some hope that the national outcry over last week's land-grab ruling will inform the SC choice, but I fear that it will only be a small part of the decision.)
This is for me and my wife...and our kids...and our grandchildren. This nominee is the key to how the court will judge for a long, long time, likely.
And if this screaming, disingenuous, manipulative MINORITY can control the nominee when we (technically) have more power....
We might as well elect Hilary, because it won't make any difference. And she'll be such a horrible, leftist, socialistic, fascistic president...that maybe one day we'll finally catch some Republican politicians with some balls.
Yawn.
Is that you Arator?
SEE YA, WOULDN'T WANT TO BE YA ....
And he has not let us down thus far. He stands by his promises. Don't let the leftists dishearten us. Take action! Write your congressmen. Write the president himself and let them know that you support them, so that they will have the courage to do what we voted them into office to do.
Looks like the Free Republic likes Hillary too; they cancelled this Freep:

Gotta say- I agree, except that I will go third party.
This two party system had better pay off. THIS VERY ISSUE, Supreme Court nominees, is solely and precisely why I supported Bush twice. If it doesn't pay off, I'm gone. I'll go to the right of the GOP and work from there.
Without even knowing who the president is even thinking about nominating, like a two year old, you're threatening to hold your breathe and turn blue, if you don't get exactly what you want, when you want it. JUST GROW UP !
Voting for Hillary Clinton is supposed to help conservatism...uh, how?
Execellent question(s).. Not everybody has a "you can go this far and no further" credo..
Some (RINOS) will bend to whatever position rather than make a decision..
I have played with a version of the concept(above) in my mind.. haven't made a hard decision yet.. Cudos.. This thread opens the conversation.. Have a feelin most here can't handle it.. Hopefully I'm wrong.. I don't like being played for a fool.. its starting to look like I've been very foolish, politically..
I don't like to think where we would be with four more years of a Clinton presidency.
I take it that you haven't been paying any attention to the Judges that he has sent up so far?
Read "Atlas Shrugged". The premise of the story is to stop fighting the socialists and let them run the country into the ground and then come in and pick up the pieces.
That doesn't make a lot of sense, but knock yourself out if you think voting for Hilly will, on balance, advance your cause.
If the Republicans still retain control of the Senate and House of Representatives, then they will be able to truly limit government spending.
Something a completely Republican legislature and executive has not been able to accomplish to date.
Still I'm planning on voting for the Constitution Party candidate. I live in California so making a statement makes more sense than adding one more vote to a losing Republican effort.
Rather than vote for Hillary, I would like to encourage (and vote for, if possible) some honest-to-God conservatives in the democrat party. They would have to show NO party discipline to democrats, and vote the RIGHT way every time. It would put a little fear in the complacent RINOs, who have taken their 'conservative' credentials for granted too long. My vote will go to the best/most conservative, whatever party he/she is from.
Is this your idea of an opus?
You are a fool if you're being serious and sober with this post. But on the bright side I'd hope the chains don't chafe too much for you to bear under your new collectivist ideas.
I fear that this our republic's last chance for this to happen. The whole "checks and balances" facade has failed. We now have an unassailable judicial oligarchy that is accountable to no one. Congress was intended to be the dominant branch of government, but they have failed in this responsibility and our now completely subservient to the new "upper house" of the supreme court. Only the executive branch can save us from this growing tyranny, and only this president make this hope a reality. I recruited hundreds of other volunteers for this President's reelection, and all of them sacrificed their time and resources based on this particular promise from the President. We all gave him this opportunity, and we all deserve for him to seize it. I am hopeful that the President will follow through based on my understanding of his personal integrity and his track record of other judicial nominees. I am also fearful, however, because of the politically unthinkable consequences if he fails.
So he has to sacrifice a "true" conservative that will never in a million years get confirmed to keep your vote?! What about the second nomineee? Is he allowed to EVER put forth somebody that can make it all the way through the process, or are we just shaving one seat off the Supreme Court to satisfy you?
Two things to keep in mind:
Politics is the art of compromise, there will ALWAYS be some compromise in these things
Most Supreme Court Justices don't stay as far to either side as they seemed before being nominated, something about the robes changes people
