Karl Rove, President Bush's chief political adviser, spoke with TIME mag's Matthew Cooper during a critical week in July 2003 when Cooper was reporting on a public critic of the Bush administration who was also the husband of a CIA operative.
But Rove did not leak the name of the CIA op Plame, Rove's lawyer said again Saturday night.
Robert Luskin said Rove never identified Plame to Cooper in those conversations.
"Karl did nothing wrong. Karl didn't disclose Valerie Plame's identity to Mr. Cooper or anybody else,'' Luskin said to the WASHINGTON POST. Luskin said the question remains unanswered: ``Who outed this woman? ... It wasn't Karl.''
NBC's Lawrence O'Donnell claimed this weekend, 'Rove Blew CIA Agent's Cover'.
"Emails will reveal that Karl Rove was Matt Cooper's source. I have known this for months," O'Donnell said.
Developing...
You almost had us fooled.
Could you expand on that?
It was extreme sarcasm.
If that was a best attempt, we have nothing to worry about. Agree?
Yes.
Rove is Not a Texan. He is an Okie.
They are blitzing us.
1. Lots of attention on new judicial appointment. Why did she pick the end of last week? She could have waited a month to announce it. Maybe it's because this is a good time to divert attention.
2. Lots of attention on Eminent Domain.
3. Still some attention on Gitmo/Durbin, etc.
4. And now for the Big One: Tuesday, July 5th, while people are getting over a hangover, the FEC is planning on hitting bloggers. Long term dangers are worse than anything that happens to Rove:

FREEPERS - HEADS UP!!! > Federal Election Commission says Web Blogs might be a threat to democracy
5. And at the same time, this Rove hit. A one-two punch while a lot of people simply want to enjoy their Fourth of July weekend.
Of all 5 points, 1,3,4, and 5 are all tied in with the courts. I believe Sandra Day O'Conner coordinated with people: the lynch pin being someone with one foot in the legal profession, one foot in the political profession, and the old media in his ... or her ... back pocket. Someone who hates the internet. Now who could that be?
You guys act like the sky is falling..Rove is no "chicken little"..You give too much power to the MSM. Who won the election with the MSM constantly gnawing at the President's heels. Bush didn't settle ito the "highest office in the land" for two terms on his own. Rove is a Master and this is just another "alleged" pseudo-news host- O'Donnell rant (check out his history) from a "low ratings" network show. He went "nuts" on O'Neill and made a fool of himself.
Same Fool, Different Day.
Perhaps link this thread to the story written earlier on EditorandPublisher.com (Drudge was slow on the ball) and you won't be so fast to give in to the O'Donnell MSNBC rumor/story/"developing"-sarcasm. Don't let Drudge scare ya! ;)
Mandy Gruenwald?
When was he accused before? I truly don't recall.
Karl Rove asked him to.(;>)
ODONNELL IS A CREEPY LIAR!

"Wilson at one point suggested that senior Bush adviser Karl Rove could have been behind the leak, which the White House denied. He backed off that assertion somewhat Monday, accusing Rove of at least condoning it."
Even JOE WILSON admitted it wasn't Rove - in 2003!
He was the first one pointed to before it became clear he didn't do it and attention turned to Scooter Libby, where it stayed until finally reporters were forced to admit Libby didn't do it, either (both Libby and Rove signed waivers long long ago allowing reporters to disclose the content of their discussions).
Here is how the ball got rolling on this trumped-up "scandal"---with Wilson himself pointing to Rove:
Did Rove Blow a Spook's Cover?
Sept. 16, 2003
The question of whether to investigate who in the Bush administration blew Plame's cover surfaced Aug. 21 at a forum about intelligence failures on Iraq held by Rep. Jay Inslee, a fervently anti-war Democrat. Wilson, who was present, had this to say:
It's of keen interest to me to see whether or not we can get Karl Rove frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs. And trust me, when I use that name, I measure my words.
This appeared to be an unsubtle hint that Wilson knew one of the leakers to be Rove. Taking the bait, someone asked White House press spokesman Scott McClellan about it today:
~snip~
Then see adam's post at #92. When push came to shove, Wilson backed off the Rove accusation.
Rove will be in Cooper's notes, but not as a source (impossible) for revealing that Plame recommended Wilson for the Niger trip.
I didn't know this until today, but Matt Cooper is married to Mandy Grunwald, a Democratic party hack. I'm guessing he is one as well. These people would have chomped at the bit to reveal Rove, if he was the source.
Can we trust someone who makes a fist, and has veins sticking out of his neck when someone disagrees with him?

re: af_vet_1981 -- Yes, he is married to Mandy Grunwald and I smell a conspiracy.
So, following your logic, Mary Matalin must be a Dem mole in Cheney's office since she is married to James Carville. We all known that spouses can't disagree politically, and they are the most obvious examples of that. I smell a Matalin-Carville conspiracy.
/sarcasm off
"McDonnell to give proof"
"The guy is LAURENCE O'DONNELL - Michael McDonnell is a judge on Bush's short list."
Do you mean Judge Michael W. McConnell? ;-)
