I would like to thank all of you for the frequent words of support you offer your military, who serve this nation because they understand what is at stake.
One evening long ago in Boston, Robert Emerson Newman, sexton of the Old North Church, hung two lanterns for his silversmith friend and fellow Minuteman Paul Revere. Grampy Newman was captured by the British shortly thereafter, who quickly realized that a signal had been given to announce their arrival in Boston Harbor to the rebels. The Brits were rather upset with my great x 6 grandfather. Those were the days when American patriotism was born.
Your thoughts this weekend for our men and women serving in harm's way are very much noted and appreciated.

Happy Independence Day Gunny!

Semper Fi.
I guess it really takes having to spend these holidays
over seas to make a service person truely understand
what they are all about.

God bless and keep our troops,
and open the eyes of the liberal democrats
to their own transgressions. Amen.
You know because the men in my family had children late in life, It strange for me to realize that I'm not far removed generation wise from that time....
Great Great Great Grand Father..Nehemiah Bates was born on 19 JUN 1740 in Hingham, Plymouth Co MA ...My dad would talk of family that served during the revolution (they used to have pair of shoe with the buckles from there time in service... don't know if it was GGG GrandPa Nehemiah"s or other family)
