Prop 200 delt with public assistance to illegals. It says very little about the hispanic position on illegal immigration itself.

It won't be long now before we would have achieved third world status.
Actually, in the neck of my woods we have already achieved that status. The question that remains to be answered is which country we'd look like soon. Will it be one resembling a Mexico, or worse, one resembling an Haiti?
Lock and load and prepare for the revolution.

You make some excellent points.
The fact that forty-seven perecent (47%) of Hispanics in Arizona voted for Proposition 200 demonstrates that large numbers of legal Hispanics do not want illegal aliens to receive a number of the benefits that they are currently receiving. It also shows that large numbers of legal Hispanics want actions taken to prevent illegal aliens from voting.
The majority of the American people do not want illegal aliens to be given legal status.

Gov. Huckabee opposed the Republican bill that supported the rule of law and supported the Democratic bill that supports illegal aliens. Must be Huckabee's running for president. Like McCain he's convinced himself sucking up to illegals is the ticket into the WH.

It says very little about the hispanic position on illegal immigration itself.Do you honestly believe that a large percentage of people think that's it's OK for illegal aliens to be in the United States provided that they don't receive taxpayer funded benefits? Every single person that I've personally spoken to on this subject believes that illegal aliens shouldn't receive taxpayer funded benefits and shouldn't be in the United States either.

The Dims will get 60%+ of the Hispanic vote. Therefore if we allow more in to vote, we give them more voters. Of course that is the way to win elections, is to allow more voters to choose the opposition.

Number one issue, cut off all aid to non-citizens. Number two, make it illegal to send funds out of the country without proof of citizenship. Number three, fine employers that employ illegals. Number four, build a frickin fence. Number five, charge the Mexican govt the costs of housing and deporting the illegals. Number six, backcharge them for the cost we have already incurred in the care of their citizens. Number seven, confiscate all property of those here illegaly. Number eight, sell tickets to the parade of illegals going home.

That is a provably false statement. A California congressman lost his seat because of illegal votes in the 90's. Bob Dornan documented over 1,300 illegal votes in a race he lost by less than a thousand votes. In Washington states '04 elections, there were so many holes in the election safety web, that it was unknowable what the vote count was. This scenario repeats itself over and over in this country, only an ostrich cannot see the danger of having loose election laws, and millions of illegals with the possibility of swinging the vote.
Always remember, those at the lowest end of the economic spectrum, will vote for the candidates promising the biggest payout. I know GW is closing fast, but the dumocrats have always been better at that.

47% of hispanics voted for prop 200. That means more than half of hispanics voted against it. If there was a referendum on amnesty for illegals you can bet 90%+ of hispanics would vote for it. The only evidence I need of hispanic support for illegal immigration is the neat correlation between some politicians soft stand on illegals and the increase in hispanic support for that politician.
