Well...we are 37 minutes into the supposed "global concert of a lifetime" and MTV has managed to show 12 minutes of commercials for reality programming, interrupted 3 performances, and have shown a highlights package from the UK with the biggest names of the day already performing.
Yep. MTV has found a way to not show music on a day where music is all around them. So away with the Live 8 thread....

Final score: Live 8, Talent 0.
But seriously folks...
The mayor of Toronto threw a hissy fit that the Canadian Live 8 concert went to Barrie, an hour's drive outside the city, instead of to the Centre of the Universe (TM).
Let Barrie get a little bit of the world spotlight for a change instead of Toronto.

YUP , ... let's see if anyone mentions Robert Mugabe , what'cha think , who'll say "Robert Mugabe ..."?

I guess they had to pay for the celebrity gift bags...That's an interesting euphemism for "hooker."
To: Vive ut Vivas
This whole thing screams, "We're not going to give OUR money, but YOU can give YOURS! We're so honorable for raising awareness!"
Exactly. It's "our" money that builds their self congratulating monuments and statues, ie., modern day immortalization for the cult of celebrity.
$uch a deal.

The AOL Music site is not working at all, guess I will have to suffice with not watching it on MTV.
What is Michael Stipe of REM dressed as today in London?
To: gopwinsin04
LOL Oh no Stipe was too cheap to do his full impersonation of Blue Man

I almost threw up when I went to AOL and saw: "JOIN SCARLETT JOHANSSEN AND GEORGE CLOONEY FIGHT GLOBAL POVERTY!" Sounds like an SNL routine

Let the liberal freak show commence! Now I know why REM's drummer quit the band to become a farmer.
To: gopwinsin04
you know, every time I see that freak he looks more and more like that Moby guy...

No wonder, REM hasn't had a hit album since like 1997. Maybe Stipe could only afford one squeeze bottle of blue paint!

"Will Smith started part of the show with having 150,000 people snap every 3 seconds to show that a person dies in Africa every 3 seconds. I see a comedy skit on the late-night shows off that"
Real problem is everytime Mr. Smith snaps his fingers another 5 pop out squalling for food Africa does not have since all those evil capitalistic white devils were driven off their land.
Africa needs food? Talk to Mugabe. I'll watch something that makes me want to puke less like some Fear Factor reruns.

YUP , ... let's see if anyone mentions Robert Mugabe , what'cha think , who'll say "Robert Mugabe ..."?They have no problem screaming about Bush and the U.S. not doing enough. You're right. No one is going to mention that the problem with Africa is people like Mugabe.

Between terrorism and trivia.
The clowns running this show know they are dishonest and manipulative.
When will the West choose to fight back against these "Moral" slavers?
We owe them nothing.
Our whole way of life is at stake.
It's time to kick out ALL of these Western and freedom hating bastards.

Are you trying to say that Empty-V would try to make a profit off a charity event? Oh I can't believe it.
Heh heh heh...
