I wish a a liberal would retire as well...we really need 2 replacements to have a decent majority of even 5-4 on every ddecision since Kennedy has moved more reliably in with the liberals.

If we can replace O'Conner with a true conservative though, we would be in the majority in more cases.

Probably not enough to overturn Roe though.

Which is a virtual guarantee that they will.

I think you mean pedal as in gas pedal, not petal as in Flower. It is true however we need all strict Constitutionalists.

I hope O'Connor is the first resignation for that reason.

If they let a conservative replace rehnquist without a filibuster, something I'm not sure they'd do anyway, they'd use that as leverage in a Judicial fight as signs they are 'reasonable". I want the Fourteen, and our seven Dwarfs specifically, put on the spot with the first resignation. O'Connor retiring would do just that.

HeeHee! A lot of 4th of July weekenders, and summer vacations are going to be spoiled! I can hear the phones ringing right now, on both sides, but the libs are going to all in a frenzy.

Man your battle stations!

Now is the time for GWB to start taking out the baseball bat...Appoint Bolton, re-nominate Bork, ask for Kofi's resignation, send special ops into Syria and plug the flow, seal our borders immediately and that would be a good first day....

Just nominate a proven conservative.

Anything less would be unacceptable. They only get one chance, they can't afford a mistake.....like Souter.

This is wonderful news! When Rehnquist retires, he will hopefully be replaced with another conservative like him; with O'Conner leaving, Bush now has the opportunity to end judicial tyranny and restore our Republic to what the Founding Fathers intended.

I can't wait to see the libs go totally insane ...

For the ones who've not already arrived, it'll be a very short trip

If you're expecting the GOPhers to step up to the plate and hit one out of the park, you're in for a long season of disappointment.

Frist showed his strength on the judge filibusters. He's not ready for the big leagues.

Yes! What a gift for Freedom! It is time to put someone that believes in the US Constitution in her place instead of International law.

You can bet that the Wacko Liberals are sharpening their knives right now. This will be a blood bath, and I hope Bush appoints Luttig or Janice Rogers Brown
