Hearing on Fox News
LOL, I know you are right. And I was only partially serious, just a fleeting thought of hope to eliminate Hillary. The reprocussions of her in the Supreme Ct. would be terrible, but I would love to see her offered something that would remove her from any future elections.
Oooooooh boy. Let the games begin.
I was making a sarcastic comment about his interview with Time magazine.
Maybe Putin would change his citizenship, appoint him to the court..He knows a thing or two about changing laws
F. Lee Levin
I'm not fully awake Peach (only on my second can of Diet Coke) so tell me this is true?
This appointment will be KEY!!! If Bush goes with a moderate, and if there is waffling in the senate by supposed " conservative" Republicans, you can watch a major exodous from the party by those who put Bush IN office, the " religious right". I am praying much for the right decision here. This appointment is for life and will effect the future direction of our country.
Is Brown really being floated as a replacement? I had not heard that.
I believe her husband has been very ill
Ain't that the truth, good postcard.
No just knowing that you are from there explains alot.
Frist has to stand up, do the right thing, grow a nutsac, and pull the trigger on what the dems have called the nuclear (nucular) option. Steady hand. Bush can seal a decent legacy if he does it right. If he caves, he will be lost to mediocrity.
If that is the best we can do, it is the best.
Leaving the seat vacant for the next president is foolish.
The country is slowly turning conservative. A blood bath which we will lose over a social conservative being on the SC is a battle that will not be won. It won't. There are enough moderate repubs to stop it.
Excellent post. I am socially conservative (to a point) as well. And I totally agree.
Souter is consistently far worse than anyone Reagan gave us. If you love Bush 1, fine. But don't say my criticism of him is without merit. Many many conservatives are sorely disappointed in him, hence his pathetic 38 percent in 1992. His son has been better to conservatives in some ways, but I say again, he and the Senate WILL cave. Hell, they can't even sell a Bolton or an Estrada to lesser positions. Talk is cheap, rhetoric is useless. Watch the results. I bet you were one of the ones here citing "strategery" during the CFR debacle, mocking those of us who knew what would happen.
Agreed SS - I have been disappointed with W on several fronts, but the judiciary is not one of them.
It is the Senate GOP traitors (i.e. the Gang of 7, plus the rest of the squishes like Lott, Voinovich, Specter, etc.) that must be dealt with the President, the Senate leadership and especially the grass roots.
It's shootout at the OK Corral time.
