FOX just announced: President Bush will make an announcement from the Rose Garden in 45 minutes. Speculating if it will just be to officially accept the resignation and say "Thanks," or if he will mention his pick for successor.

How come it's the good guys that retire?! DANG IT, I wish it was the other way around, those idiots liberal a**es HAVE to go! After O' comes Rehnquist, DARN! If we can't even get Bolton to the UN, can you imagine trying to replace two conservative judges?...JUST DANG!! I don't think our senators have the backbone to confirm good conservative judges and the RATS will fight tooth and nail to oppose those nominees. They'll probably carry their Filibuster all the way into 08 and beyond! It's not gonna be pretty!

Reagan gave us O'Connor, kennedy and scalia.

41 gave us one Lib and Thomas.

So far this President has been rock solid in his judicial appointments.

It might be nice if the disparagement of the Bush's was centered on the reality of their records, as well as context of other 'conservative' Presidents.

No. In 4-4 ties, the decision of the Federal appellate court stands -- but the case does not set an official "legal precedent" the way a Supreme Court decision does.

"...this will put them over the edge FOR SURE."

Yup, this is after all, what the real importance of the Presidency is all about outside of the military. The Senate has been diluting the president's powers for years now.

Let the games begin!

Can anyone guess how long until GWB nominates someone?

He should wait until congress is back from recess, since the media/democrat machine will spend the summer butchering, fileting and grilling any nominee.

I nominate Jim Rogan of California, former Congressman and member of the Clinton Impeachment Committee.

I am sure O'Connor gave the President plenty of advance warning. Hopefully, they have already selected their nominee and will announce it post haste.

Seems so. I haven't heard complaints against him like I have heard with Alberto Gonzalez.

I don't know if it is realistic to expect that Pres B can get in whomever he wants what with the Senate.

Some conservatives start bashing Bush from the moment this starts. Already disappoited. Already threatening.

Alright, it is time to start the war.

Let's go.

The public can actually reach key people in the WH directly, including Rove's office. No, you probably won't talk to him, but you will get someone close enough to him in the office that he will notice the barrage of phone calls.

Here we go:

Tel for Rove's office: 202-456-5587 or 202-456-2369

Fax for Rove's office: 202-456-2461 (make sure to say it is for him on the cover sheet...seems there is just one big WH fax number that is public).

Timothy Goeglein, WH Public Liaison, at (202) 456-2930

Andrew Card's office, WH Chief of Staff: 202-456-6798

My biggest fear: Bush, in the spirit of the new-tone, nominates liberals and moderates. Can't anger the Beltway crowd, you know...

My fear also. Dear Lord, I hope not.

Maybe, just maybe, all that pussfooting around with the 7 morons-in-waiting making deals, the President planned for this moment. Maybe, the Liberals have been had.
