I wonder if the S-S reporter has spoken to JAMES CARVILLE lately?!

"The country is just in a foul mood," says Democratic strategist James Carville. He cites a new poll from Democracy Corps in which 56 percent of Americans say the country is headed in the wrong direction. Democracy Corps provides public opinion polling and strategic advice to Democrats. It was cofounded by Mr. Carville and Stanley Greenberg, who served as President Clinton's pollster.

THE LATEST DEMOCRACY CORPS SURVEY, CONDUCTED JUNE 20-26, FOUND THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE "NOT DOING VERY WELL," Mr. Greenberg said at a Monitor breakfast.

Some 43 percent of voters said they had warm feelings about the Republican Party, while only 38 percent had positive feelings about Democrats. "Republicans weakened in this poll ... but it shows Democrats weakening more," Greenberg said. He attributes the decline to voters' perceptions that Democrats have "no core set of convictions or point of view."
http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0629/p02s01-usmb.html

You read correctly, Carville and Greenberg's own poll indicates that, yes, Republican job approval ratings are down (including the President's) BUT the Democrats' ratings are down MORE!!!!

POSITIVE (WARM) FEELINGS
48% (Mean 50.0%) President Bush
43% (Mean 49.8%) the Republican Party
41% (Mean 47.6%) the Republican Congress
38% (Mean 48.9%) the Democrat Party

NOTE: The President and Republicans outpoll the DIMS despite the fact that this poll grossly oversamples Democrats and Democrat-oriented constituency groups, e.g., women, minorities, and adults over the age of 60!

THIS IS WHY THE DIMS AND THEIR MEDIA ENABLERS ARE HYSTERICAL . . . THEY ATTACK THE PRESIDENT RELENTLESSLY AND STILL CAN'T EXCEED HIS APPROVAL RATINGS IN THE POLLS!

Why does everyone assume I am a troll when I post information relevant to the conversation? Notice how I said "something to worry about" instead of "LOL BUSH SUX LOL". I don't particularily disagree with the war in iraq, so I really have no reason to "troll".

Why would you want a President who goes where the wind blows?
We had that for 8 years under Clinton.
Who CARES about polls?
And WHY do you think Dubya should worry about polls in his SECOND term?

What did the POLLS say would be the outcome of the election?
Really, tell me what the POLLS said would be the outcome?
And then tell me why anyone should give a rat's butt about what polls say.

It also helps that most of the polling spin was discredited more than a few days ago. (selective questions, reporting a different question than the one that was actually asked, timing of the sample...)

very very very late to the party.

These are OLD dudes...WWII, Korea, Vietnam-types. They don't have a clue about what people really think about Iraq. Doubt if they even really care. They're just watching/reading the MSM pablum & spitting it back out.

Although this is Hollywood, FL, not CA, it is between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and right in the heart of 2000 Democrat vote fraud country. The older guys there were likely brainwashed by FDR--don't know what is wrong with teh younger ones unless they were union workers all of their lives.

I find it HUGELY interesting they pick Hollywood FL of all places.

Many of those there are retired NY types who would vote for Hitler if he appeard on the Democrat Party Ballot.

(btw has everyone noticed how FNC is calling Weasley Clerk the former DemocratIC candidate? as if the republican candidates were UNdemocratic...)

I have encountered some of these "old dudes". They only see the past democrat party. They do not see the modern day communists, Democrat "gay" party.

These older guys don't realize "their" democrat party has been taken over by the communists and homosexuals.

They do not want to accept it.

FL Democrat party is basically a shell of its former self. This is the same democrat party with the $900000.00 dollar tax bill.

The homosexual author, mayo, deliberatly hand picked these people. (BTW mayo also advocates homosexual access to the boys of the boy scouts.)

The letters to the editor from left wing Vietnam Vets up here to the Springfield Missouri newspaper. Since it is your typical lefty Gannett paper I am sure their waste cans is filled with letters to the editor from Vietnam Vets who support the war but like the 9/11 families the press will use a certain minority to tarnish the rest of the group as holding a certain liberal view.
