Unfortunately, the Supreme Court no longer protects (inconvenient to the government) free speech under the First Amendment.

Right-O. And I will edit that to read:

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court no longer protects (inconvenient to the government tax whores) free speech private property ownership under the First Amendment Constitution and American custom.

Free Speech people, Free Speech!

The real issue? The FEC is not seeing the information for the candidates THEY would like to see in office. I promise you - if the Republicans did not have such a strong Blogger population, they would not be saying much about the entire issue.

Blogging is the only thing we have left when it comes to TRUE DEMOCRACY. The last place where we can say what we think and feel when we think and feel it - without worrying about anything but negative feedback or smart comments from readers who may nto agree.

Can 'the-powers-that-wanna-be' leave us alone, please? Thank you. JK Blogger of "Just Me, Everyday" .

Why would they oppose the interests of incumbent politicians. Incumbency is the one true bipartisan cause.

The most vile curse I can think of barely comes close to what I am thinking right now.

Second Amendment. Emminent domain. Lack of policing the border. The Raich ruling. Taxes. Socialist Insecurity.

It's all just too much. Shut it all down. Every government official should just vacate their f*cking offices right now and NEVER go back. They should consider themselves FIRED. Burn down the buildings and salt the earth so nothing ever grows there again.

If they can't play by the G*DD*MN RULES, then we need to take our toys and GO HOME.

HOW QUICKLY THEY FORGET! (King George III):

Blogs bringing down the MSM edifice is what the FEC seeks to avert:

TV networks can broadcast and newspapers can publish hard-charging political editorials without violating campaign finance laws under a journalist exemption. Bloggers want to be included in the exemption, leaving the FEC to decide whether bloggers are journalists.

If I write a Letter to the Editor and it is published, does that make me a "journalist?"

This is going to make for VERY wierd bedfellows, since I am sure Skinner over at DU (for example) is just as concerned as we are.

You've got that right. Democrats cherish the idea of free speech, as long as it isn't Fox news, Rush Limbaugh, Regnery press or Free Republic (American Spectator, et al.)
The stinking hippies who became the political establishment have had it their way so long . . . suffice to say that `Big girl' would make muzzling, in particular, Free Republic, a priority.

The liberal MSM is already regulated... by the free market. Readership and viewership measures of their audience indicate the liberal MSM is rapidly going the way of the horse and buggy. Except for PBS, the liberal MSM outlets rely on rapidly dwindling advertiser dollars and cable subscriptions. They are on their way to extinction.

McCain-Feingold is a threat to the Constitution. Socialists (aka DemoRats of the Jackass Party) and fake capitalists (aka RINOs) are a threat to the Constitution. Certain members of the Supreme Court are a threat to the Constitution.
