Dean: Troops Deserve More Than Bush's 'Discredited' Rhetoric

WASHINGTON, June 29 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following is a release of the Democratic National Committee:

Disappointingly, the President followed Karl Rove's advice last night and linked Iraq to 9/11 no fewer than five times in just over 35 minutes. He ignored the concerns that Americans have expressed about the war, and still refused to provide real answers or a clear path to success in Iraq. Even former Reagan aide David Gergen expressed that he was "offended" by the number of times President Bush mentioned 9/11.

"Despite being previously forced to back away from unfounded assertions about links between 9-11 and the war in Iraq, President Bush once again twisted a national tragedy to distract from his own failed foreign policy," said DNC Chairman Howard Dean. "Instead of offering the American people a clear path to success in Iraq, President Bush returned to the same defensive and discredited rhetoric. The American people, and most especially our troops, who are serving with great courage, deserve better than discredited, shopworn political rhetoric from their Commander-in-Chief."

Your research is great. Too bad it will never see print...but WE will know.

Oh, yes. The support liberals have for the troops depends on whether or not the "troops" can be used to further the anti-American, Stalinist anti-war effort.

But our "troops" don't like liberals. They don't like them running the country down. They don't like or appreciate the fact that the Left's anti-Americanism is undermining the war they're fighting, either.

This is too easy. For each Democrat who says his party needs to fight their image as soft on terrorism you a hundred freakin' morons like Dean proving why they're in that bind. They can't resist taking any cheap, political shot. No matter how surely it will backfire. (Yes it will, and don't call me surely)

They'll take any side against the President - Saddam's, Al Qaida's, Castro's, anyone. Even if the consequences are that our soldiers die, our national credibility dissipates, our enemies are rejuvenated and our country is further weakened. All cheap shots, all the time.

Thanks; share it with friends via e-mail. We can't reach as many people as the MSM, but we can try.

Actually this is a very moderate statement from the likes of Dean. Remember, this is the guy who hates: Republicans, the military, white-Christians, the sanctity of marriage, the unborn and generally anything to do with U.S. foreign policy.

We should give him credit. He wasn't screaming at the top of his lungs. He was just spewing forth a relatively mild form of hatred. He is improving. Maybe my prayers are starting to be answered.

I just sent a note from their site to whatever Power's-that-be regarding that idiotic press release. They still don't get it! Of course the invasion of Iraq had everything to do with the events of 9/11.

Given how much whining and carrying on the Demoncrats engaged in over the Bush Doctrine of attacking those nations who are perceived as an impending threat before they become an imminent threat - aka doing unto others before they 'do' unto you - you would think these idiots would remember their own debates about the Bush Doctrine and whether or not Iraq was a threat.

Regarding Iraq as a threat, all one has to do is seach the on-line NY Times Archives for a speech given by Clinton in the late 1990's which called for invading and subduing Iraq.

What a bunch of moron hypocrites!

"Even former Reagan aide David Gergen expressed that he was "offended" by the number of times President Bush mentioned 9/11."

Absolutely the biggest craphound on the planet, unparalleled in kneepad face time.

This is the moron whose class (and I pity his students) held a mock(ing) straw vote for '08 last winter and they claimed Hegel came out on top.

Gargle = the most unsavory RINO BS merchant the Beltway has produced in the last 20 years.

President Bush once again twisted a national tragedy...

Hurricane Ivan was a national tragedy. The California forest fires were a national tragedy. The drought in the upper West is a national tragedy.

However, the events of 9/11 were not a "national tragedy". They were a premeditated attack on our nation by a foreign enemy who seeks to destroy us and who had every intention on murdering as many of us as they could and destroying our economy.

Islamist apologists such as Howard Dean and the Democrat Party need to be corrected every single time they try and change the language to suit their nefarious ends - which is "usually".

Every time I see or hear Howard Dean I think: there's nothing wrong with that little shiite-head that a DIRTY SWIRLEY wouldn't cure.

I have a plan to win in Iraq: Vote Democrat politicians out of office until they GET THE MESSAGE! This ain't Viet Nam, this is WWIV. Dean, Durbin, et al, are not hippie war protestors, they're the Neville Chamberlains of our time. Fellow Freepers, its time to get down to work on the 2006 elections. We need good candidates, good strategy, campaign funds, and lots of volunteers. I'm too old to sign up and fight in Iraq, so I'll fight the battle right here.

It’s All About 9/11
The president links Iraq and al Qaeda — and the usual suspects moan.

I noticed Senator John Warner extending an olive branch to the Democrats last night. Nice to see that they took it, threw it on the ground, stomped on it, and stuck their tongues out.

I'm sure there must be other Americans who are as fed up with this constant whining as I am. If America's politicians are as incapable as they appear of fighting a war, then perhaps we should pull the troops out, and blame the politicians for all the consequences. The Dems and the RINOs have demonstrated their incompetence in fighting wars.
