Graham-Clinton Lovefest Irks Evangelical Big

National Clergy Council president Rev. Rob Schenck walked out on Rev. Billy Graham during the second night of his Queens, New York crusade on Saturday, after Graham yielded the stage to Bill Clinton and suggested his wife Hillary should be president.

"I was stunned and appalled," Rev. Schenck told the Christian Wire Service, saying that he left Flushing Meadows Park while Graham was still complimenting the Clintons.

"This was a deliberate, cunning, purely political move by the Clintons to divide the Evangelical vote and assure Hillary of a victory in '08," said Schenck, a minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance and a missionary to elected officials.

Rev. Schenck said he has considered Rev. Graham his role model for over 25 years, explaining that he had traveled from Washington, DC, to New York City this weekend to witness what may be the legendary preacher's last crusade.

But after he saw the Clintons exploit the aging Graham, he couldn't bear to stay and hear him preach, he told CWS.

After the two top Democrats managed to secure onstage seating, the ex-president praised Graham for his civil rights work during the 1950's, adding "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."

Rev. Graham returned the compliment, calling Mr. and Mrs. Clinton "wonderful friends" and "a great couple." He then quipped that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."

He wouldn't have given them what amounted to a public endorsement. He said, "Go and sin no more."

No doubt about that. And they'll be front and center at the funeral. Whether they can keep their eyes open is another question.

No surprise. The Clintons have a long history of using people to advance their political agenda. This is clearly a move to make people think that Her Heinous has got that old time religion and is in tune with the red states. What's next for her, being the keynote speaker at the NRA convention?

"But people are forgetting that Graham's comment was a two-part quip. Maybe he thinks Hillary running the country is just as unlikely as Bill becoming an evangelist"

Good point! ;D!

Billy Graham has never been a strong man. His publicly professed beliefs have even bordered on pantheism at times. He will often say whatever he believes will please the most people, and in this he has a lot in common with the clintons. But this was a case of the clintons taking advantage of a senile man.

"----- A great couple" For What??

To steal the silver ware and the linens from the white house? To plunder a savings and loan? To lie rape and pilage? Yeah - right a great couple.

NOW will you all believe that Billy Graham is a 33rd degree Mason? That he has been preaching a water-down "anything goes" gospel for years? That he is NOT what he appears to be?

Read. Research. Don't trust, but verify.

I agree that any implied endorsement of the 'toons by Mr. Graham wasn't appropriate. For the Marxist Hillary to assume a throne of honor at an evangelical Christian crusade is beyond bizarre.

Bill Clinton has about as many credentials to be an evangelist as Ted Kennedy has to run the AAAAA. (roadside assistance for drunk drivers) =P

Another case of a Christian who becomes just an enabler.

It is hard for me to imagine that if Billy Graham where fully cognizant of the Clinton's behavior, and what they stand for, he would have suggested she be president.

He knows very well what the Clintons put this counry through. He would have to be brain dead not to remember.... Billy Graham is a beloved man who truly sees the good in everyone. He has befriended many Presidents but until this Crusade, he was always careful about NOT making partisan statements. But boy when he blew it, he blew it big time! I'm furious with him too. I wonder how his daughter is going to explain it?

I think Rev. Graham has crossed the threshold of senility.

I am outraged!

Rev. Graham suffers from unsound mental judgement. By endorsing Slick Hilly, he is advocating abortion, adultry, lying, stealing.

Any sound minded person who saw that display of hypocrisy from Graham, and the clinton duo, know that the clintons used him as they are using so many others. There is NO reason the Rev. Graham did what he did.

At least, the Pope, did not have an audience with the clinton slime. Graham has lost all credibility.

what would Jesus do? Did He avoid contact with the vilest of sinners?

What would Jesus really do? He would never have 'struck hands' with anyone; he denounced that practice during his ministry. It is an ancient zoroastrian (Tammuz worship) tradition. While Jesus did mingle with sinners, he never embraced their sin as Graham did here.

Graham has shown himself as a political puppet. A rapist, lying, cheating, murderer like Clinton should not be given the stage to further his power. True we are sinners but that doesnt mean we should discern the pigs from the sheep.
