Today I saw a comercial set like a game show with two queers competing against a single man for some prize. It was to advertise http://www.orbitz.com/gaytravel/. My wife and I just sat there staring at each other in amazement. I promptly got up and went back to the computer. It is no wonder I don't watch television anymore. Orbitz just added themselves to a list of companies I will never do business with.

Gay couples are of course disproportionately double income, no kids. Which means that they have a lot of money to spend. That's why they concentrate in expensive cities so much.

Orbitz runs ads aimed at a variety of audiences, not just homosexuals. I've seen all kinds of Orbitz ads on different cable stations during the past year.
I've have no interest in their services regardless of their advertising target demographics.

So in your world homosexuals can watch one channel that they have to pay extra for and the other 799 channels are hetero-God-fearing-Scout-loving-NASCAR-sponsoring family shows?
HGTV or some other decorating channel seems to where this Orbitz add was seen. Do you think homosexuals might watch decorating shows? Hmmm.
Homosexual relationships are not illegal in the U.S., homosexuals are interested in traveling to "gay friendly" destinations like parts of Florida so why is it a problem for a travel company to direct advertising toward shows watched by a group that does a lot of traveling with their higher than average disposable incomes? They want that business. It's a perfectly capitalistic endeavor and motivation.
Don't like this policy and practice? Fine; don't use Orbitz for your travel. That's what America's about. That's personal freedom and liberty and a free market economy in action.

Last year we saw one of the Orbitz gay commercials. It was one of the puppet ones, where one was staring at another male puppet through the binoculars. I was watching with my teenage boys, and we all looked at one another - did you see what I saw?
Needless to say, when I went to the computer looking for a plane flight this year, Orbitz was one of the ones I skipped. I doubt they care, gays are one of their target audiences. They have too mamy popups also.
They are free to market to whomever they please. I am free to go out of my way not to ever use their service.

...Add Palm Springs to the Banned list. This ad was on the Orbitz site. Crawl up a level from the URL of that ad, and you will come across a directory of some 10,758 images (links to images, not the actual images). Look for ones that contain the word "gay" or "boyfriend". I counted about six dozen.

What a bunch of homophobes! What's your rational? "I don't use Orbitz, cause they cater to queers!" You better lock the doors and not leave your house, you might cross paths with a gay person. Thanks for living up to the conservative/Republican stereotype.

Actually, this time of night, on this day of the week, maintenance is typically done in a lot of datacenters...

I thought that as well, but I figure a travel website would be prime-time on a Saturday/Sunday - when Monday to Friday workers have time to stay up late and surf the web dreaming about the next vacation.
I agree though, your explanation is most logical.

Don't particularly care if someone is straight or gay. What I do care about is that a company is offering discounts and specials specifically for those who are gay or lesbian.
If I had heterosexual specials, the lawyers would be crawling down my throat ten seconds later. Stupidly, the reverse is just fine. If homosexuals are supposedly like all the rest of us (something I subscribe to), why must there be specials just for gay folks?
So you can stuff your homophobe crap; the reason why this discussion even came up was because someone decided that they had to treat gays differently and that they could offer special deals based solely on someone's sexual orientation. Some of the more lawyerly types might have a field day enforcing the various state non-discrimination laws against this company.

Hey, I never said that homosexuals should have one channel. They can have an entire satellite system if they want. If pot smokers want a channel or several, that is cool as well. Some folks may have kids and not want to have to filter commercials or home improvement shows on top of everything else. I should not have to be innundated with it.

I have never used their service and now I never will. I go out of my way to avoid companies who do things that offend me. It is getting harder to avoid it these days.

You sound just like one of those screaming liberal finger pointers. I could care less if someone is gay. Hell, my uncle is probably gay and I could really care less. I do care that their lifestyle is being rammed down our throats(no pun) and I care that it is being taught to our children as something that is normal and an acceptable alternative. The pushing of the gay agenda is creating a whole generation of kids who think they may be gay because it seems cool or it gives them the attention they crave so badly. Once you step over the line of homosexual sex, you can never take that back. Do you want your kids exploring some whim just because some people with an agenda tell them it is normal. I have the right to stay away from an entity that pushes or caters to something I do not believe in. As far as your homophobia comment goes, look it up. Homophobia is a creation of the left. Use a more proper term that really explains revulsion or disapproval instead of a psychological problem. If there is anyone with a psychological problem it is gay people themselves and many of their appeasers.
