"Rebel suspects". Yeah right, not women hating, fascist terrorists or anything bad like that.
AP, CNN, Reuters, bastions of "balanced", unbiased, "truthful" reporting. A little sarcasm here.

Most of these poor souls have no idea what they are fighting and dying for!
Good to cull the dimwits from the herd.

The bodies of 76 suspected rebels were found in the mountains of southern Afghanistan,... Does this mean that ACLU lawyers will now be going to Afghanistan to represent the families of those 76 "suspected" rebels who were killed without due process?

The increase in fighting has reinforced concerns that the Afghan war is widening, rather than winding downWhose "concerns"? According to this chickenboy's own writing, we are taking the fight to the remnants of the Taliban in their mountain hideouts and caves. Maybe he is "concerned" because we are running down the scum as they flee on their horses and motorcycles. I supposed that might "widen" the area of combat by a few miles.
And the MSM's fascination with body counts continues unabated.

" bringing to 178 the number of insurgents killed in one of the deadliest bombardments by U.S. and Afghan forces since the Taliban fell in 2001."
Apparently this is a bad thing.
Not successful bombings, but , " deadliest."
It appears that this liberal writer is more concerned with the safety of the terrorists than he is in the US winning the WOT.
If Karl Rove is as smart as we think -he would market " Have You Hugged a Terrorist Today ? " bumper stickers.
He would make a fortune selling them to liberals in the MSM and the Democrat Party.

"Our forces have collected the bodies of 76 more rebels from the battlefield," he said, adding that the corpses had been scattered across a wide mountainous area. "It's very difficult determining how many died when A-10 planes and other attack aircraft, as well as heavy machine guns, have been used against the enemy," he said. "Some of the bodies may also have been buried before we could count them."Two arms/hands or two legs/feet = 1 "body"
Allahu Akbar! :)

We need to keep taking the war to the terrorists until all of them are dead or a remaining few surrender. We must force them to renounce all jihad and agree to live in peace with the West. If we are going to avoid future attacks, our desire to force them to leave us alone must be greater than their desire to do us harm. There is no safety in ever increasing "security" measures. Our only safety is in breaking our enemies. Those who say that we can't break the Muslims have already lost.

They were "suspected rebels"
They were not "suspected insurgents, they were proven insurgents, apparently...
To: Wiz
That's the way it's done.
But of course, the AP must find a way to shoehorn a completely irrelevant negative note into the story:
The increase in fighting has reinforced concerns [by whom? Moveon.org?] that the Afghan war is widening, rather than winding down. U.S. and Afghan officials warn things could get worse ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for September.
