To all at the Canteen:

Old Sarge gave us a call today. They were on the tarmac waiting to go. I was the last time he would be able to use his cell phone for a year or so. Spirits are in great shape. USO handed out 100 minute phone cards at the gate and McDonald's was furnishing lunch on the tarmac.

Mom, Dad and I wished him well and keep his eyes open. Mom has a candle in the window now and I just ordered my Blue Star flag to fly under the US flag.

He made a comment the there are two people going over that have Nam ribbons. Now, there are no words comment further on that. "Thank you ", just don't cut it.

I am not worried about him that much, he is in his element. He and crew he is with know what they are doing. As soon as we have an address, the care packages will make sure they know that they are not alone over there.

That's all I have for now.
