In an interview now online on
Entertainment Weekly, Tom Cruise addresses some of his insane tendencies of late, including flopping around on Oprah, taking shots out of nowhere on Brooke Shields and his ramped up commitment to Scientology, the only thing that can save the lost souls here on Teegeeack, or what you humans call Earth. Before anyone is too hard on Tom, just remember that his
body is inhabited by the wandering souls of fried space aliens. So that sucks. And laugh if you want, but once Xenu is freed from his electronic mountain trap and order is restored to the Galactic Confederation, (an alliance of 76 planets founded 95 million years ago) youre gonna feel pretty silly. No offense all of you who don't believe in Xenu, but you're kinda makin an ass out of yourself.

What a boring little twip! There is no way I want to go see him in his latest movie.
Why do so many of the so-called movie stars make it so easy for to never want to see their films?

I read a few days ago that Cruise fired his longtime manager and his longtine PR person. Together, through the many years, they issolated Cruise from interviews and did not allow him to talk scientology.
Now he is calling the shots with his career and this is the result.

Does anyone have Tom's personal phone number? I'm desperate to know whether it is OK to take an aspirin for my headache.

Gotta wonder if Spielberg is regretting his choice of lead actor in War of the Worlds. After all of this silliness involving TC, I have no desire to see the movie, and I'd been looking forward to seeing it. Now I don't think that I'd be able to suspend disbelief long enough to buy TC as the hero in the movie or even to enjoy the film at all.

He is really ruining the box office for War Of The World's. Everyone is talking about him, not the movie.

I can't say that I know much about Scientology (isn't that their point), but aside from that, I don't agree with the attacks on Cruise.
I interpret his point to be that taking drugs to alter your chemical composition isn't exactly the best way to deal with issues in life. Whether he's right or wrong about post-partem, I don't know why conservatives (like FReepers) would want to dismiss his criticism of drug dependency.
Heck, he told Matt that Matt doesn't understand how the studies promoting drug dependency were conducted. Why is that fundamental claim so different than conservatives saying the studies about global warming are agenda-driven and flawed? Most "studies" and "surveys" are conducted for the purpose of proving a proposed question. I think it is only intellectually honest to consider the methodology of studies which are used to encourage drug dependency in our society.
Don't any of you wonder about the impact widespread Ritalin, etc. use is having in our society? I think he's saying "enough already. We need to move away from this stuff." I'm no scientist but I agree with him.

"Matt, Matt, you don't even you're glib," Cruise responded. "You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these theories, Matt, OK. That's what I've done." If Tom is against Ritalin, then I agree with Tom.

I heard clips of this. Matt tried to get Tom to answer questions, but Tom totally bullied him and controlled the interview. He was rude, condescending and repeatedly contradicted himself. In short, he has a future in politics.
