They're busy trying to decide what to seize.

They're busy trying to decide what to seize. We little people just have to hang on for the ride.
They are going to do what they want to anyway, no matter what we say. Pathetic!

The relative quiet has been troubling. This may have to do with the peculiar patron-like relationship many corporations have with political bodies.
The politicians are not really at risk here since they hold the keys of condemnation. Why would they turn around and cede that power?

"........not one question from the media.........."For one, most of the news-readers in the media are either too far Left to disagree with this blatantly Marxist, Anti-American ruling, or too stupid and uneducated to understand the implications of the ruling.
......or both.

The politicians are silent because they are comfortable with the decision. They like exercising governmental power and this decision gives government officials more power. It's not a party distinction; Republicans are hardly better than Dims in this regard. Viz the out-of-control federal spending and increasing centralization of power in D.C. by the Repubs.
I don't see real reform coming from the current crop of politicians.

They're busy trying to decide what to seize. Bingo! And they've got a vacation coming up to tour potential locations to seize.

You expected President Bush to say something about this? Really? Did you expect him to say the SCOTUS was wrong? Really? Oh, my!

We need to not let this die. I think people are outraged enough to push this one. I am calling every representative I have, and emailing stuff to my address book.

Bush is far too busy talking about why we need to expend money and lives to increase liberty in
other countries.
This is the man who happily assaulted the First Amendment and political free speech, remember.

What outrage, they love it. Look at it from their point of view. More tax money to waste and a developer to line their pockets to get them to do it. They for the most part do not care if they hurt us, after all we are jus tthe little people.

Give it about 5 years... maybe 10 years... then maybe some of them will express outrage.

Bush was part of the effort to use eminent domain to get a new ballpark for the Texas Rangers.
I'd keep my mouth shut too if I had that in my resume.

remember how congress/pres reacted after the under god ruling in the pledge? outraged!
To: janetjanet998
Oh you'd hear the politicians squeal if their mansions and ocean front property were threatened. Wouldn't it be great if all of Martha's Vineyard was seized for a wind farm?

It is very disturbing, the silence that is. Only a few have stood up to be heard on the issue -- it does not bode well for the future of the republic and its Constitution. As it was with our first Revolution, only a fraction of the people actually supported it, as any GOOD history book will show. But it worked, and it saved America. The people WHO CARE about America, have to take the stand, and make the outcry.

I am not surprised in the least that Bush, let alone the media, has not mentioned the ruling.
Most people in this country are monkey see, monkey do. They are not likely to get upset about something THEY see as having no impact on them personally.
Most people never do much thinking at all, and certainly are not going to get worked up over some dumb political thing when they have beer to drink and barbecues to attend.
I'm not sure there is anything we can do. I believe that the majority of Americans simply cannot be bothered with lifting a finger to protect their country, or their rights.
Some yesterday were calling for a revolution. That will never happen due to apathy.
