The White House is rejecting Democratic demands that Karl Rove apologize for saying liberals meekly offered "therapy" for the terrorists as a response to 9/11.
Press Secretary Scott McClellan says President Bush's top political adviser was just "telling it like it is." Rove delivered his blast a few miles from Ground Zero in New York, at a Conservative Party dinner, he said liberals sought "understanding" for the attack and Democrats called for "moderation and restraint" while President Bush saw it for what it was: a declaration of war.
McClellan says Rove wasn't getting personal, just describing different philosophies.
Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean calls Rove's remarks "divisive and damaging." Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid says Rove should apologize, or resign.
At a Senate hearing on Iraq, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton called on military leaders to "immediately repudiate" what she called "an insulting comment."
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid says Rove should apologize, or resign.
HAHAHA.. That's RICH!
cnn.com gives the quote in a fuller, even richer context:
Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean called on Bush to "show some leadership and unequivocally repudiate Rove's divisive and damaging political rhetoric."
I really hope the irony isn't lost on the left.
But, these people are no longer LIBERALS. They are PROGRESSIVES, doncha see. Or, maybe by complaining they are admitting to actually being liberals. Oh, the Humanity!
I heard Upchuck Schumer had accused Rove of applying politics to 9/11.
Senator Schumer, sit down and shut up. You and your ilk have intitated attacks involving Gitmo, et al, designed specifically to undermine and take down the President of the United States in a time of war. At the very least members of your party are guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors, giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
The Democratic Party are masters of hypocrisy and projection, pointing fingers and yelling of crimes yourselves have committed.
If you had any shame, you should feel it.
First we got our Judges, and then we turned up the heat.
That's perfect, professional, hardball, results-oriented politics. This is *how* the game is supposed to be played.
Second, our House GOP leadership is incontrovertibly strong, not weak. Ditto for the White House.
...And if Senator Frist keeps winning fights such as forcing Durbin to apologize, getting our judges, etc., then we may not have much left to debate about his leadership there, either.
We are, one bullet at a time!
GO GET EM ROVE!
I'm really glad the WH backed him up on this. Time to email them my support!
Godspeed and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
ROFL! LOVE THAT PIC! PRICELESS INDEED!
GREAT PIC! If I were on one of MY computers, rather than house sitting and fighting with an antique system, I'd save that. **sigh**
Hoping it's posted again.
(Kennedy on phone) Mr. Reid? Did you hear what Rove said about us? Are you going to do something?
(Reid on phone) Ms. Poloski? Kennedy just called and wanted to know what you were going to do about Rove and what he said?
(Kerry on phone) Mr. Durbin? Have you called Ms. Poloski yet? Is she going to do something before she says she isn't?
(Poloski on phone) Mr. Voinvoich? You have to say something about this disgrace....calling us liberals???? Why all the nerve!!!
And they want an apology????? NEEVER I SAY NEVER!!!!
no problem! I have access to LexisNexis, and frequently cross-check claims by politicians. Lately, I've been disproving alot of what Hillary says, as well as a Teresa Heinz comment.
Check out my profile. You'll get a kick out of the article posted there.
A sentiment I agree with 100%.
Call on military leaders? I find this rather odd. The military is loathe to get involved in politics. It's not normally accepted. She should know this.
And she wants to be Commander-in-Chief...
just wait until later when youre on your computer, look up your post, click the link back to the post with the picture, and save it.
What apology?
Pot, meet kettle. Didnt dingy Harry call Bush a loser a few weeks back?
That statement made my scratch my head.
Only time Hillary would call on the military would be to call them "pigs"
Teresa has an excuse: an excess of alcohol and bars, causing brain damage.
Hanoi Johnny Boy does not. He's only repeating a long-running pattern of siding with the enemy under the - now much worn and tattered - guise of heroism. I think of him as Wormtungue.
Did you hear that Scotch-soaked dork Kennedy spewing venom all over Rummy today? Luckily, Rummy doesn't take that crap.
