Democrats Demand Retraction From Rove

Democrats are demanding that White House adviser Karl Rove immediately retract and apologize for comments that liberals responded to the Sept. 11 terrorist strikes by wanting to ``prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.''

``The one thing New York has had since Sept. 11 is unity,'' said Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. ``To inject politics into this and to defame a large number of people'' is outrageous, he said. ``It's not what New York and America is all about.''

Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, said in a speech Wednesday that ``liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'' Conservatives, he said in the speech to the New York state Conservative Party just a few miles north of Ground Zero, ``saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war.''

Rove said the Democratic Party made the mistake of calling for ``moderation and restraint'' after the terrorist attacks.

Schumer said Democrats were drafting a letter asking Rove to retract his remarks. Jim Manley, spokesman for Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., also called on President Bush to ``immediately repudiate Karl Rove's offensive and outrageous comments.''

Rove also denounced Sen. Dick Durbin's comments comparing interrogation at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to the methods of Nazis and other repressive regimes. He said the statements have been broadcast throughout the Middle East, putting U.S. troops in greater danger. The Illinois Democrat has since apologized for the remarks.

``No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals,'' Rove said.

"I'm sorry you mis-interpreted my comments.""

I think the appropriate apology from Rove would be words to the effect of:

"It must suck to be you."

"To the Demobats: It you SOBs turn to do a little repudiating, apologizing and resigning your positions, starting with KKK Byrd, Conspiracy Kook Klinton, and name calling Reid, Schumer, Biden, Kennedy, Waters, for starters."

If the U.S. political left fought the true enemies of our country as hard as they are fighting their perceived and chosen enemies (GWB, Karl Rove, and the Republicans) the war would probably be much further along toward being "over" in Afghanistan, as "Pelosi Galore" has declared, and elsewhere as well. Their constant hateful remarks, attempted obstruction of every effort put forth by this president and the House and Senate leadership, not to mention the effort on the part of liberals to destroy the lives of their political enemies, points out the obvious hypocrisy of Schumer's comments about unity and politicization. Anyone but a practiced liar would have choked while saying such a whopper!

The fact that the left is immediately calling for a retraction of Rove's comments after supporting Durbin's remarks (tacitly on the part of some, overtly on the part of others)only serves to demonstrate the accuracy of Rove's comments. He should stand strongly behind what he has said because it is the truth. He knows it is the truth. We know it is the truth. And, what is more, THEY know it is the truth.

Almost fell out of my chair laughing. It is what Liberals are all about though.

To hear Schumer complain about "divisive political" speech, would be laughable if not so damned insulting...

The Democrats will reap what they have sown -- and die of self poisoning...

More tit-for-tat politics from Democrats. They only want a Rove apology because of their embarrassment over the Durbin comments and apology.

ROTFLOL! Thank you for the link. From the article:

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean calls Rove's remarks "divisive and damaging." Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid says Rove should apologize, or resign.

This is so far beyond hypocritical, beyond the pot calling the kettle black.....I am speechless.

To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln. I'm sorry that liberals like to talk and bluster while conservatives like to act.

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged." ---- Abraham Lincoln

TurbanDurbin continues to be a sitting SINator. WHY?

The feckless Capital Hill gang, aka, our elected representatives, will take no initiative unless forced by WE THE PEOPLE!

HAVE YOU CALLED and E-MAILED 10 SENATORS and REPRESENTATIVES TODAY ???

It has now been over a week and it is time to take out the garbage! Call and e-mail all the Senators. Call and e-mail all the Representatives. DO NOT send snail mail ... Senator Allen stated in New Hampshire and on his website, that mail takes six (6) weeks to be processed.

Request, yeah DEMAND that Durbin be:
1) CENSURED: I want a record who voted for and against censure. After censure -
2) RESIGNATION: Give the SINator the opportunity to do what is right by our Military and our country. If he refuses -
3) EXPULSION: Remove the cancer from the body.

There's no comparison between Rove's satirical comments and the hateful, angry, vicious and constant stream of attacks coming from the Dems. They are so desperate, but they know their willing accomplices in the media will give their complaints equal time and weight as criticism of Durban's Nazi commentary. Barf.
