Shocking anti-abortion exhibition

Shocking anti-abortion exhibition

14 giant anti-abortion billboards have been put up in the city centre of Lodz in central Poland. All of them abound in drastic scenes, and they are displayed right next to war images. The organizers think it’s a good way to appeal to people’s conscience.

The main street in the city of £odz visited by thousands of people every day, now hosts now an antiabortion exhibition abounding in pictures portraying death next to photos of aborted foetuses. And so, a photo of massacred bodies in the former Yugoslavia is placed next to a picture of an 8-week foetus abortion. A picture depicting a massacre in Rwanda is right next to the image of a foetus with a missing head, presumably severed during the abortion. The logo of the action goes ‘Different methods. Different motives. The same result.’ Marek Chorodniczy of Fronda, a Catholic magazine, treats this exhibition as the last resort when thousands of other methods of discouraging women from having an abortion have failed in Poland.

These pictures definitely negate the view of pro-choice circles. They shouldn’t be shocked by such pictures treating them as ornaments normally. However, if it does upset them, they must consider abortion a homicide then. That means, the exhibition has achieved the right result.

The billboards don’t reveal the name of those who are behind the action. Though in a Catholic country like Poland a significant part of the nation will object to abortion, many £ódz residents feel outraged by the shocking images they were exposed to in one of the city’s main streets.

The drastic exhibition of massacred children and adult bodies, quartered foetuses, and parts of human remains has been reported to the local police who are looking into the case.

I don't agree with putting abortion scenes or pictures next to war images since the two are NOT the same. Death happens in war BUT there are GOOD reasons for war. There are NO good reasons for abortion.

"All of them abound in drastic scenes, and they are displayed right next to war images."

They are trying to link war and abortion as the same since both involve death. If I remember right Catholic popes typically have a pacifist stance when it comes to war.

"Good idea"

I'm not so sure. Last summer, a pro-life group gathered for several days on the main road in my town, carrying signs and handing out pamphlets. No problem there. But some of the large signs that they were carrying were extremely graphic, and not at all the kind of thing that children should be looking at.

While I agree with the sentiment, there is a line.

...there is a line.

I agree with the sentiment as well, but in-your-face graphic photos is over it.

Not necessarily. Pope John Paul II didn't say anything critical of our campaign in Afghanistan.

Wish we could do it here in the US.

They are trying to link war and abortion

Perhaps there is another point that is being made. Namely, many people strenuously object to war because of the deaths involved, but they don't object to the deaths involved in abortions. Maybe that is the point that someone is trying to make, i.e. trying to get across the point that even if you don't 'see it' abortions ae still deaths.

DO NOT make us look at our sin!

"What you have done to the least of these, you have done to me".

"If anyone comes to me, he will be saved and go in and out and find pasture."

All those without the Savior will not have their sins covered and He could ask the first question. Those who put their belief upon Him, smile at the second.

we need these photos in elementary school. During the same slide show that instructs the children on oral, anal and any other sex act their teaching. The when they tell them it's OK to have all the "safe" sex they want, they should show them what happens when the school nurse sneaks them down to the local Planned Parenthood butcher shop, whithout the parents consent. A little slap upside the head dose of reality never hurt anyone.

People who favor abortion should be forced to see its consequences at the same time they publicly declare their preference for "choice."

Agreed.

I've tried to get people who are hard-core pro-aborts to look at photos of aborted babies. Their reactions were pretty amazing. Some claimed that the images were fake. A few said that the result was worth the "freedom". Most absolutely refused to look.

How shocking! (said with utmost sarcasm & feigned disbelief) We can't let people see what actually happens during an abortion! It might disrupt our profits - said the Planned P'hood people... (/sarcasm)

I think it's a great idea. Just like the sonogram machines that allow mothers-to-be and fathers-to-be see that it really is a baby, not just 'uterine contents'.

I understand that the deathrate in Poland during WWII was about 1 in 5 - so they're likely to have a different zeitgeist about war death than we are.

Why not?

They don't tell kids or adults what this actually IS.

I kid would natrually recoil from it just as adults SHOULD.

With they way they sexualize kids, I don't mind if they also show them how horrific abortion is. Why pretend is isn't?

He was certainly opposed to the war in Iraq. That tells me he'd rather have had Saddam Insane in power.

Why do you think he was not opposed to the war in Afghanistan?

That's possible but I see more of a pacifists message when it comes to war and death - the sanctity of life and love your enemy to an unhealthy extreme going on.
