Three major cable providers are buying into the launch of two new homosexual cable networks that will air homosexual programming around the clock for the first time in U.S. television history.
In April, Comcast and Cox Communications agreed to offer the homosexual network "Here," put out by Regent Entertainment through their video-on-demand offerings. Viacom will offer its own advertiser-supported homosexual network, "LOGO," as a basic cable channel starting on June 30.
"I don't think most parents want their children flipping channels on their way to the Cartoon Network and running across a scene of two men kissing in bed on the LOGO network," said American Family Association president Tim Wildmon. "Most of us have enough to explain to our children nowadays."
Wildmon also sees potential for late-night programming on the networks to turn pornographic in nature. "The very nature of homosexuality is based on eroticism and infatuation with sex," Wildmon said. "This programming will be targeted to a group of people who define themselves by their sexual behavior, and one can expect the gay networks to follow the trend in offensive late-night programming such as we saw with NYPD Blue, only in a more deviant homosexual context.
"The gay and lesbian networks are geared toward mainstream homosexuals who view sexuality and define pornography very differently from the majority of mainstream Americans."
The New York Times reported that Viacom's LOGO network already has access to 10 million homes and is supported in advertising by Orbitz, Subaru and Paramount Pictures.
"We will hold accountable companies who sponsor this type of offensive heavy-duty homosexual content," Wildmon said. "This type of programming invading cable reinforces the need for a la carte choices instead of forcing people to pay for a 24-hour homosexual network."
I used to work for that department. I was in charge of making signs that said, "No Parking from Here to There, and Back Again". And I won't even begin to tell you about the line to use the copier.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
All degraded/licentious/crappy/mindless, all the time.
I'll admit - I haven't even seen a plugged in TV for at least 3 years, and that was just for one evening. I like one freeper's screen name "television is just wrong". All the more reason to toss it out of the house. There's a lot of much more useful, fun, entertaining, educational and interactive stuff to do.
But the problem is that mindless people, unattended children and people with spongelike minds DO watch this crap, and are influenced, and since the purpose of this kind of junk (besides making money) is to shape public opinion, it is not good at all.
Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.
If people had to specially order all-homosexual channels, that would be an excellent indication if people really wanted it.
Man, it's a tidal wave of bad cultural news today.
I didn't say there weren't smutty programs on, just not pornographic. There is no nudity in this, is there?
HBO sucked (pardon pun) long before they went gay.
I have DirectTV and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before you see LOGO and whatever else there too.
LOL This will be about as successful as Air America.
Then you must be a Libertarian instead of a conservative because I can't tell you in a public forum what I stumbled upon one night and it wasn't even late. It was at 11:30pm!
Exactly.
Perhaps. But money talks, and there's an obvious market for it.
It's not unlike the boycott of Disney.
"What the Christians aren't coming to Disney World? Okay, let's cater to those who are."
I'll cancel my Comcast account if they do that.
And check the SCOTUS (I mean Nazgul) decision about property grabbing. Seriously, seriously bad, and makes the 10 Commandments decisions coming up look scarey.
I don't know, I'm thinking that unless there is some kind of divine intervention - appearing in any way, shape, or form - things are going to be so irreversibly bad that we can't even imagine how bad.
God is in control, of that I have no doubt. But He also give us free will, and man! Is it being misused on a grand scale.
I'm saying that the FCC will not consider anything pornographic unless it there is nudity. I've never seen that on BET.
I did see a nude woman on TBS at like 3:00 am back about 10 years ago (they were running some old movie). I think someone forgot to edit that! I later read that the FCC fined them for the mistake.
I was hoping I wasn't the only one that thought a Homo Channel on the Cox Network was hilarious.
I know you'll want to hear about this.
Just heard that on Rush. It's shocking.
I watch the L Word. Does that count? ;o)
I thought the homosexuals had their own television channel already: namely, most of them. One can't bloody well watch an American sitcom without at least one, obvious flaming whoopsie in the bunch.
If I moved to America, I'd need Fox News and a channel for classic movies. And that would be all.
Regards, Ivan
You need to buy me that shirt for my 3rd anniversary. LOL
