When a United States Senator says something deeply offensive, there are usually but two immediate recourses: Either he or she voluntarily apologizes, or colleagues formally censure the senator.
If the senator happens, however, to be a member of the leadership -- as was the case with then-Majority Leader Trent Lott in December 2002 -- another option is available: The humiliating loss of power resulting from the forced removal from that high office. Such a remedy clearly seems appropriate in the case of the Senate's unapologetic and as-yet-uncensored Minority Whip, Dick Durbin, Illinois Democrat.

Not a chance. The Dems have neither the integrity nor the willingness to break party solidarity over the issue. They'll lose seats over it before they censure the second guy in the party - She Who Must Not Be Named will see to both. He'll owe her. She likes that.
As with the vote on John Bolton's nomination, the decision about removing Dick Durbin as minority whip is an early test of Sen. Hillary Clinton's purported "centrist" credentials.
If she hopes to persuade voters across America she has the stuff to lead this country, she must demonstrate she is prepared to lead her party in more responsible directions in the Senate.
When Republican'ts say something controversial, they make it worse by apologizing. When Democrats say something stupid, instead of apologizing for it, they follow it up by saying something even stupider with even more conviction.
Hellary will NEVER remove Durbin

If she did it, I still would never vote for her, but I'd stop calling her names for a couple of days.Maybe.
In the case of a Dimocrat, he/she just drops his/her pants while the Republicans pucker up.
"Mr. Durbin's most grievous offense, of course, was his defamation of American troops who protect us from terrorist operatives, trainers, recruiters, bomb-makers and financiers confined at Guantanamo. He has not only derided their service. He has legitimated our enemies' efforts to wage war against us by suggesting the government whose orders they follow is literally -- as well as morally -- equivalent to the most repressive regimes the world has ever known."
To top off Durbins speech on the floor we also have to contend with our Impeached President -- clinton --- speaking on foreign soil against Gitmo and all our American troops. Both of these men of responsibiity have shown their ignorance of and the procedures of war.
Bill Barr our 77th Attorney General was on Laura Ingrams show today - it was a great interview speaking on this same subject.
I wish Laura was on Fox News!!!!!
Egads,have mercy on my eyes!;)
GO FOR IT!!! What's a little Assault charge compared to the millions you'll make off of the book and movie rights.
I doubt it would take much of a punch to send that coward bawling to the skirts of his momma.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to see if I can find a transcript.Laura is a favorite of mine!
I wish Laura was on Fox News!!!!! = I wish Laura were on Fox News!!!!!
