Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''
David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.
``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.
After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

Was she dying, Deejay?
Only because she dried out like a fig first.
Not to worry, though, despite being incapable of feeling anything, she was in a euphoric state, right?
When was the last time you went a whole day without food or water, hmmmm?
Sorry, should read:
After the court showed her a newspaper article account of this story, Mrs. Schindler corrected her testimony and said Terri must have been about 11 or 12 when she made the comment.
There was a CT scan a long time ago. PVS is a clinical diagnosis. It can't be definitively determined from any scan, blood test or the like. In the end it is an opinion based on face-to-face testing with the patient and supported by pathological tests like CT scans. Nurses have signed affadavits that she swallowed jello and ice chips. The inability to swallow is one clinical test indicating the possibility of a PVS state. If you can swallow that alone rules out PVS or a minimally conscious state.
A reliable poster keeps me informed.....now head on back over to CP or WT to make fun of FR.....
And naturally the same consideration will be given MS regarding reciting times pertaining to the night of Terri's collapse. Not. The Schindlers have already further villified him. So they can learn to live by the same standard.
And you, I suppose, was there watching the autopsy being performed, in order to make such a blatant statement?
I heard that exact silly argument from the radical pro-death MoveOn Leftists who showed up at the hospice.
I thought we had quotes from Non-Schiavos whom Terri knew.
Don't you find it odd that only people named Schiavo heard Terri say, "No tubes for me."
I find it very odd...it brings to mind this little satire
Lots of times.
Had I been the judge, I certainly would have demanded more current tests and evaluations before making the final decision.
However, I think the autopsy does show that she was in that condition, and perhaps even a little worse off. I think most of us believed that she was getting some visual stimuli, even if she couldn't process it. Turns out that wasn't true.
This case was a fiasco from the time the malpractice lawsuit was won. It went downhill ever since. It tore apart that family, and recently it has torn apart FR.
I just hope that someday we'll be able to calmly discuss the lessons learned from this unfortunate event rather than rehashing the facts, theories, and horrible allegations made by all involved.
It's clear that we're nowhere near that point yet. This is an ugly thread.
No, of course not. If you knew anything about what Peach is talking about, you would know this. Stop trying to twist the truth.
Yes, something like "I kept my promise, in your face Swindlers"
Then why the court battle to remove her feeding tube? Dead people don't consume nutrition.
Thank you for the information...that confirms my opinion/observations :D
It seemed especially egregious to me that for a while, at any rate, people were basing her vegetative state on the fact that she couldn't swallow and made the doomsday conclusion that because of that, her cause was hopeless, when I *do* know for a fact that stroke victims and preemies have to be re-trained/trained respectively and it is not an impossible or complicated thing for the brain (unless I am wrong about that particular tidbit).
You really are a very silly person. I don't make fun of FR, only some of the posters. Seems to me you have done that too. I like it here just fine, thank you any way;o}
No, my eyes aren't stinging, but thanks for your concern. Given your overwrought condition - as evidenced by the really, really big type size you use - I hope the blood vessels in your head aren't exploding, though.
So Terri's mother was saying that Terri said that Mr. Quinlan should just leave Karen alone -- and Mrs. Schindler was willing to use that as what Terri wanted?
