Terri Schiavo's remains buried in Clearwater
Sun-Sentinel ^ | June 20, 2005 | MITCH STACY

Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''

David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.

``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.

After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

I find it even more disturbing that you wish to censor people on this forum by suggesting (on your fifth day here) that certain posters should stay off threads.

And I'm not "invalidating anybody;" the one that is fixated and obsessed with "the small posse" is doing a great job of that all by itself.

Mrs. Schindler loved her daughter so much that she testified at trial that even if Terri told them she didn't wish to live like that, they would keep her alive.

Wow!! A person who tells the truth under oath

Basic human dignity? Ah, but perhaps I am on a resprirator, or feeding tube -- then I have no basic human dignity except in death, eh? I speak from life!

Your comment that caring people told Terri to stay away from her house the night she collapsed. BS

So you're believing people who were never subject to under oath testimony vs. those who were, like doctors and nurses?

God's justice will be worked out in ways of which we have no or little understanding. We must trust in His good timing, and have patience.

So the autopsy that said she was blind was completely wrong?

The following is an excerpt of the autopsy report with additional definition of terms by FReeper Nathan Zachary in parenthesis. The terms 'intact' and 'normal' in reference to structures concerning eyesight don't sound like a determination of blindness to me. Is it stated more directly somewhere else in the report?

The cranial nerves [which provide sensation to the ear, eyes, smelling, facial movements, larynx, taste, tongue] are intact, though somewhat discolored golden brown. [Intact neural tissue is unstained and appears as a white color. Depending on the darkness of the coloring it suggests nerve degeneration. They should be examined under an electron microscope to determine degree]

The optic nerves [which are also cranial nerves] are somewhat thinner than expected, but the remaining cranial nerves were within the expected limits of normal.

There isn't a shred of proof in what you say

You still haven't told me what I said.

And that's what this is all about.

Classic over-reach by the radicals within the pro life movement.

Unfortunately, these people have set that movement backwards. People are pretty disgusted by what they saw outside that Hospice.

But doctors do make those claims. Because they've never seen anyone come out of the state Terri was in. By whatever name you wish to call it.

Still hasn't sunk in yet, has it?

YOU DO NOT STARVE SOMEONE TO DEATH! YOU DO NOT STARVE SOMEONE TO DEATH!!

Hope your eyes are stinging with that for some time.

If anyone here exhibits 'obsession', that would be you and your friends.

I would guess your intention is pretty much geared towards getting threads like this banished to the backroom.

When it comes time for Michael Schiavo to die, what will be written on his tombstone? There's no room for his name on Terri's tombstone with all that gobbledygood, no room to make it a double tombstone. Where will he be buried, and what will the new wife (if he marries her) have inscribed on HIS tombstone?

Are you saying they never brushed her teeth?

Yup. Michael forbid them to.

Ya see, if Terri swallowed toothpaste, that would be sufficient to demonstrate that she wasn't in a PVS, as loss of the swallow reflex is diagnostic of that state.

IOW, if you can swallow you are NOT in a PVS.

Why the heck do you think he denied her Communion??? He wanted to KILL her, it wasn't that she might choke to death, It was that she might swallow a bit of wine and wafer. That would PREVENT him from killing her, as it would prove she wasn't a vegetable.

Vegetables don't swallow.

And did you know that the hospital staff was thinking of getting a restraining order against him because he was so incredibly demanding of her care?

Actually..

I'm not surprised
to hear people were considering getting a restraining order against Michael

Thanks for reminding us of that.

He had motive. He had opportunity. He had means. That, by itself is usually sufficient to start a police investigation.

Uh, no, you also need to have some evidence or indication of foul play. There was none.

and based on what I've been able to find out had Terri murdered under color of authority.

Oh, really? What evidence do you have to support such an accusation?

Yes I have. Twice now. There's not a shred of proof that caring people told Terri to stay away from MS that night.
