Ultimately, based on the clinical evidence and the autopsy results, an aware woman was killed.

I've heard all of the criticism of Hammesfahr's qualifications, but it seems to me that the autopsy results were just a little too "cut and dry".

The autopsy results confirmed my opinion and Dr. Maxfield's opinions, that the frontal areas of the brains, the areas that deal with awareness and cognition were relatively intact. To use Dr. Nelson's words, "relatively preserved."

I found this part telling.

Well, this is just dead wrong. Terry is dead and her husband was wrong.

I'm sure the judge is pleased with himself.

The videotapes clearly showed her seeing, and even Dr. Cranfoed, for the husband, commented to her that, when she could see the balloon, she could follow it with her eyes as per his request.

Can someone refrsh my memory as to what year the balloon tape was made? It's obvious she had some sight at that point in time.

Dr. H was NOT nominated for a Nobel prize. Not officially, anyway.

When asked to bring his nomination to court, he couldn't do it. He had a friend nominate him and it wasn't through the official committee.

The Nobel Committee has asked that he stop using his "nomination" on his letterhead.

He also advertises in the National Inquirer, accepts cash only and is considered an alternative medicine doctor.

When asked in court to provide evidence of his assertion that he's cured people like Terri, he couldn't do it.

You may be right, but I would like to see a real doctor's opinion. Have any doctors criticized the results other than Hammesfahr?

Ultimately, based on the clinical evidence and the autopsy results, an aware woman was killed.

The thing is, even if it was uncertain that Schiavo was aware, the right thing would have been to err on the side of caution and not proceed with the barbaric two-week murder by starvation and dehydration.

This is the same quack who said Terri could eat and swallow.

This is why they would not let another Dr. in on the autopsy. This is not grassy knoll talk. They should have let tests be done before she was killed, What would it of hurt. We would have raised the funds if money was the question.

Great thread, thanks for the post!

Dr.H points out that the autopsy confirms many things the death ghouls denied: Dr.H also was the only doctor to notice while she was alive, that Terri could not focus beyond 18 inches in front of her face.

Thogmartin called her completely blind, but even Michael's Dr.Cranford admitted she tracked objects with her eyes.

I guess doctors examining a live patient in person can beat out a pathologist examining a corpse any day.

Thank you for this information.

After over 10 years in the medical field, qualifications of a doctor would only be questioned when there is a case of this magnitude - otherwise, it is not the qualifications , rather simply the difference of opinion from one doctor to another.

This is why a second opinion is so often recommended when a diagnosis is made. What one sees and thinks may not be the case with another. This happens frequently among doctors in different practices, and is also as common among those working within the same office.

Therefore, it is not anything new to have doctors with varying opinions regarding Terri.

The bottom line? Facts and direct science in front of your eyes do not lie. If the brain was found to be intact and not mush - then that is fact. If she were swallowing saliva - then clearly her swallowing was not impaired. I now question whether a feeding tube was needed in the first place - or was it perhaps a first step in the plan of her demise?

I strongly urge the Schindler family to take this evidence, and find an Attorney. I also urge all FReepers who were so involved with Terri - by visits, protests, email, calls - whatever the case - to spread this message as far and wide as possible.

We now have reasonable doubt - and probable cause. I rest my case. JK

That she could not swallow was obviously not borne out by the reality that she was swallowing her saliva, about 1.5 liters per day of liquid, and the clinical swallowing tests done by Dr. Young and Dr. Carpenter.

Duh. They killed her and had the nerve to tell us that she could not swallow yet she had been swallowing her own saliva. What a goofy world in which we live.

Is there anybody who still believes this huckster?

He repeatedly lied about his own qualifications, why on Earth should we believe him now?

How many autopsies involve a police escourt to the coroner's office?

How many medical examiners refuse to have an independent medical examiner present at the time of the autopsy?

How convenient the body was destroyed so no additional examinations could take place.

How many incidents like this involve such incestuous relationships between the Sheriff's Office, the husband and the Courts involved?

I think Terri was murdered. I think she was brain-damaged as a result of an assault upon her by her husband and he then conspired with the nursing home, the Sheriff's Office, and other officials in Pinellas County to have her done away with. I believe he did this so he could marry his live-in roomie, and to prevent any possibility of her recovery to expose his actions which led to her demise.

But then, who am I? Just a schlub who reads the news.

"Interestingly, both myself and at least one neurologist for the husband testified to the presence of neck injuries."

The neck injuries were SO obvious in every video. I thought it interesting that the autopsy didn't bear this out.

Considering that there were so many physicians and therapists who were willing to step forward to treat Terri Schiavo, from university based practitioners to those in private practice, it clearly shows that the mainstream medical community across the board, those involved in treating patients, knew that they could help Terri.

Operative word was "knew"; should have been "thought".

And "willing to step forward" should have been followed by "for the right price".

Leave the family and the lady alone. They deserve it. Stop trying to milk even more money from gullible watchers of and listeners to the MSM.
