We on FR should have an ongoing NEVER FORGET thread. We are in all states. We all know people who know other people. We should make an all out effort to remind people why we fight. A grassroots effort, regardless of MSM, can work. The internet, talk radio, constant intelligent letters to the editors of fair minded newspapers, and printing and showing the forgotten pics to those around you who may be wavering, will be a big step in this effort. This will need to be a very big effort involving a lot of people but too many in this country have forgotten and the stakes are too high. We have had too much of the Anti-American movement and the apathetic, clueless individuals. Pro- American rallies are almost unheard of. Why?? 9/11 is less than 3 months away and we cannot afford to let what happened and why we fight slip further out of sight. On 9/11 wear a black armband with NEVER FORGET emblazened on it. It will certainly start many conversations. It is certainly possible to get an effort such as this going with individuals, organizations, churches etc., uniting, with all having more ideas on how to expand it and always keep it alive. Let it begin here.
I hate to say this, but FR is guilty, also---maybe we should have a permanent link to all the sites you and others have posted, like we have the sites at the top left of the page for Bolton nomination, judicial nominees, etc..
It would remind us everytime we get on FR, and also provide an instant link so that we can see and even post our day to day comments---
Just an idea, of course...but I know I would use the link!
Oh-Peter, I had never seen those pictures, before...thank you...
Also, I noticed our taglines are very similar...
I bet they are saying that you are trying to "cash in" on it, huh?
I hope you get it published, I think that we need your book as well as the media to start showing these images again...
I have head about a dozen "debates" on Fox News since this happened and all of the dems say that he is sorry, blah, blah,,,
BUT, no one, not even the reports on Fox have mentioned that Harry Reid got right up after Sen. Warner and the other GOP senators told Durbin off, and DEFENDED what he said, and blamed it on PRESIDENT BUSH...
So you have the LEADER of the Dem party defending these remarks and getting off scott free...
THAT needs to be pointed out more often also, IMHO!
It started as a typical first day of class. Everyone was excited to start our sophomore year of high school.
Friends were catching up with friends after a summer apart, so updating was in order.
Then, slightly before third period, our vice principal came on the loud speaker and announced that a plane had just flown into the World Trade Center. No one thought anything of this, and we continued on with our schedules.
The next period was history and as we walked in, our teacher had the television on just after the second tower was hit.
My class was in pure terror, mostly because our school is by the Delaware River, across from Philadelphia. We were terrified that a plane could hit a building in Philadelphia.
Not knowing what else to do, we swamped our teacher with questions about what was going to happen, and he didn't know what to tell us. No one really knew or understood what was going on.
With that, the TV announcer said that if any hijacked planes were still in the air and didn't land, then they would be shot down. My dad flies a little plane every day for work and I was extremely nervous.
I immediately ran up to my teacher and explained why I was upset and he reassured me that nothing would happen to my father...

I believe this is a marvelous idea. Perhaps it merits consideration?
Thank you and God Bless You.
No.
Ditto! We can not and will not forget!
Whilst I agree that violence for violence sake should not be shown why cannot the American media show it but issue a warning before hand if parents do not want their children to see the images.
You're welcome. I did change it to include "And Never Again" after Madrid. I'm still stunned at the lesson they *didn't* learn.
The networks can't win either way. I come from a marketing background - trust me the television networks play to the lowest common denominator. They want no trouble and no controversy (though sometimes they do want it for ratings pusposes - but that is a topic for another thread).
I wish to third that idea.
I think that's an excellent idea.
Grab a box of tissues ... this is what we were discussing last night. It is all here - click on all the provided links as well.
A suggestion would be to send the names of the lives given in the first strike of this war to the MSM. They delight with glee to read every soldier's death. Remind them of Todd beamer. Remind them of names lost in the Towers. Remind them of our military struck at the Pentagon. Remind them of the ordinary HEROS that took a flight and saved either the W.H. or the lousy excuse for a human being Dick Durbin. Send them their photographs...their bios.
Make them look into the eyes of the people they betray by joining with the enemy.
EXACTLY!!!
Good Post!!
Never forget indeed.
Barking. Moon. Bat.
Period.
