You have answered by question I always wondered why FNC, CNN and CBS said on the last anniversary of 911 that they would not show all the graphic details especially those jumping when I had just seen it on BBC/ITV a few minutes earlier.

Whilst I agree that violence for violence sake should not be shown why cannot the American media show it but issue a warning before hand if parents do not want their children to see the images.

I remember way back when the media saying it was getting angry calls for censorship of graphic images - mostly from family values nanny groups. Then you had the other side of the equation where people wanted the American public to be angry 24/7 so we could kick some ass.

The networks can't win either way. I come from a marketing background - trust me the television networks play to the lowest common denominator. They want no trouble and no controversy (though sometimes they do want it for ratings pusposes - but that is a topic for another thread).

You mean the way they do before proceeding to show images and footage of all the major wars of the Twentieth Century?

Personally, I've believed the media is under orders from the DNC to erase the 9/11/01 atrocities ever since the whining, "why can't we all just put it BEHIND us now?!?!?" mantra began about a month after it all happened. They'd show footage of the towers were still smoldering, then put on some leftist hack who would whine that we need to put it all BEHIND us now, for the sake of the children, to start the healing process, yada, yada.

It was disgusting then and it's disgusting now.
